'The first release of 2023 on Damon Jee’s imprint Dust & Blood comes by French duo Kimshies and once again, the guys show what they can do best, explosive indie dance and dark disco for the dancefloor.

Long-time friends and collaborators Peo Watson and Mika Frojman have returned with the latest in a string of releases following their reunion in 2018. After a twelve-year break, the French duo decided to team up again when their 2004 undercover vinyl only tune was brought back into the limelight during one of Solomun’s sets. Since their rebirth, they’ve more than made up for lost time with powerful releases on exclusive labels such as Aeon, Duro and Ombra. Their new offering ‘Blue Planet’ is an intricate and futuristic five-tracker that showcases their unique technical talent and eclectic influences.

The sci-fi-inspired title track invites the listener to dive in head first, setting the tone with its ebb and flow of intricately wrought layers. Urgent stabs combine with a relentless beat and distorted, echoing whispers in a surreal fever dream.

‘Cortex Five Senses’ then brings a retro touch with its driving synth line and unpredictable sound, building up into an explosion of tension as seductive yet almost pleading vocals bleed into each other in a desperate dialogue.

It’s followed by ‘Trapped’ (featuring Erick Faulkner), an intense track that evokes a feeling of unrest and panic with ominous lyrics backed by an aggressive rhythm and urgent sirens.

The electric and evocative ‘Cowboys Don’t Cry’ switches up the vibe with hypnotic riffs straight out of a classic Western movie and a heady, electrifying bassline that runs throughout, perfectly underlining the enigmatic female vocals.

The release wraps up with ‘Coming Out’, an eerie stomper of a track that takes the listener into unfamiliar territory, with distant, almost robotic voices seeping through looming alien sounds and a hard beat.
This unpredictable EP never releases its grip, masterfully building tension from the get-go to leave you breathless and wanting more. Set to be released on April 7th via Damon Jee’s uncompromising and cosmic Dust & Blood imprint.'

Ellum Audio serves up a selection of dance floor weapons on a bumper new sampler handpicked by label head Maceo Plex.
 
Italian Laherte trained at Studio 76 Music and has since built on that early promise with tunes on top labels. He opens up with 'My Mind', a driving techno cut with slapping hits and filtered alien sounds bringing the menace. Ellum Audio artist Waltervelt then keeps it dark and cosmic with the skewed synth energy and prickly beats of his eerie 'Back Room'
 
Mexico’s David Bau has made big moves in the underground with this potent take on techno. Here he offers up 'Deconstruct', a tense and turbulent stomper with flashy synth designs and intense, grinding bass. 

French mainstay Madben follows up his excellent recent album with 'The Drone Dance', another standout track with strobe-lit synth lasers firing over the face of an ice-cold rhythm. 

Part 2 opens with Ibiza-based producer and DJ John Monkman, the founder of Beesemyer Music and a familiar face on this label. He impresses again with 'Talking Heads', another sublime mix of futuristic synth designs carefully layered up over compelling, steel-edged drums. 

8-Bit Culprit is the house and techno alter ego of Faraz Ehsan from India. His 'Refurbished Robots' is an electrifying peak time cut that takes you to the heart of a dance floor in outer space, with nebulous pads and squealing cosmic sounds all wrapping around the urgent grooves. 

Next up is the collaborative Headwaters duo from Turkey. They draw on their mix of electronic sounds and instrumental skills on 'Eternal Madness', a slick tech track that locks you into crisp loops then mesmerises with the glowing synth harmonies which shine brightly up top. 

Danish DJ and producer Christian Nielsen is back on the label to round out this collection with 'Liberate,' a dark dance floor punisher with neck-snapping snares and ghoulish voices over a slithering and hypotonic beat. This has already been receiving plays from Maceo Plex at the likes of Timewarp, Brunch Madrid and the Ushuaia opening and is set to be a summer highlight. 

This is another high-class voyage to the edges of the techno galaxy courtesy of Ellum Audio. 🔥♥️🎵

For the 3rd Edition of the Quadrivium EP series, Steyoyoke invites another selection of new artists to share their strongest original track.

Alberth begins the EP with “Zenith”, which starts with a masterful build in tension before falling away to lower frequencies that bounce around the soundscape. A master of restraint, the track is driven forward by subtle changes in bass line, which combines with echoing overtones to leave a lasting impression. 
The second track, “Forms” by Rinzen, continues on the minimal theme, with a steady, pared-back mood that shimmers upon the appearance of delicate percussion and synths. 
The EP continues with WO – CORE’s “Zelda” – which immediately grabs attention with distorted vocals and a dive into a darker mood. The deeper, more intense point of the EP, this track combines a huge diversity of instruments and effects to a masterful level, keeping a listener always surprised but never overwhelmed. 
Senses Of Mind close out the EP with the track “Alanya”, bringing a distinct and contagious energy with unique percussive layers, and hypnotic vocal loops. 

This is an impressive showcase of new artists, covering a diverse range of approaches to the techno genre within just four tracks. It makes for a compelling listen and suggests there is a lot more to come from each of these talented producers.
