Lyrics and melody was written back in 1998 as a homage and a memory to my late dad, who died when I was just 16 years old back in 1993. Did I ever tell that I loved you?

He had been ill with cancer since I was 14 and those years become a strange period in my life. A turning point in many ways, but I resented the whole situation having a terminal ill dad, and I have gone through periods of guilty conscience the years to come. Some years later I wrote this song as a memory of him, and also an apology that he didn't get to see me before he took his last breath. As a dad myself I know understand that must have been just awful. Anyways - I hope this song will do some justice, and finally thanks to Suno the original song hopefully will travel further then my own living room. 

This song also goes out to every one who has lost a dad.

Recorded this back in May and just found it and decided to leave it as an instrumental for now. Real chill vibe. I went with the name Northern Skies because I recently visited upstate New York for some work and the windy morning sounds in the song were reminding me of it so i decided that it would be the title. :)

I'm getting closer to finishing the songs for my new album and you'll definitely find this one on there too. Looking forward to sharing a couple more soon.
