So I drank again last night, out of boredom out of spite how I wish I could rewind.
I was missing her again, still mourning my best friendship so hard to leave behind.
Something's out of place, theres a heaviness to face, like echoes from the past
I'm feeling sentimental for a time that was more gentle, how I wish it could last
But change is my old friend, to start over again,
You know jagged little stones can be smoothed over time to slowly become gems,
All these self-fullfilling prophecies I sabotage with ease and reprise the same old tune
And there's no one else to blame cause the issue stays the same 'bout as constant as the moon
Yes I'm aware I don't care if I bare it all, take me as I am
And as long as I have love and don't put myself above them I'll always find a friend
I yearn to touch your heart, and leave you feeling human
But we're perfectly imperfect with convictions and addictions, and I am just as you are
Taking one day at a time, till I shift the paradigm a bit closer to the light
And some pains to be expected may mistakes be corrected while never losing sight
Well it's hard to feel so bad when I remember that it's nature and we're dancing in a garden
