Much of us is comfortable with the Lord is who high and holy and over all things. However when he moves close, we fear the cost. The good news is he gives us a new heart that drives out fear.

Speaking Boldly (Acts 14:1-7)

Paul and Barnabas have fled to Lystra from Iconium and on their way God works mightily through them to heal a crippled man. Instead of seeing this miracle as an act of God, the people of Lystra attribute it to Paul and Barnabas alone. The people deify the apostles, calling them Zeus and Hermes, and even attempt to offer sacrifice on their behalf. Paul and Barnabas respond in lament and plead with the people of Lystra to turn to God. But the people continue to partake in vain things and lack to see that it is God who truly satisfies the heart.
