Tom Jarmey releases his debut album for Lobster Theremin sub-label Distant Horizons (formally known as Distant Hawaii) with the beautifully serene ‘Amber Glass’ LP.

On Amber Glass, Jarmey draws on influences from ambient, house, breakbeat and techno, combining dusty drum sequences on top of cosmic synth patterns and classic, warm, tape-driven production. It’s a rare treat in the post-rave, home-listening dance spectrum and showcases a knack for brooding, laid-back grooves as well as a killer melody and rhythm. Chock full of breaks, bubbling electronica, deep diving tones and emotional textures, the album is a glimpse into the work of a rising producer, but one who nonetheless sounds comfortably in their prime.

Jarmey seamlessly blends breathtaking soundscapes, luscious vocals and soaring synth hooks on this debut long play following releases for 13th Hour, Shadow City and R.A.N.D. The LP sets the tone for future excursions on Lobster from the versatile Manchester-based producer.

Long-time musical collaborator and saxophonist, Ed Hodge, joins Jarmey for a clutch of tracks on this project, with Hodge performing sax on both ‘Bees In Meadow’ and ‘Deeper Pacific’. Amber Glass features the stunning artwork of London based designer CMDP.

Our hermano Diaz Tech (SXDNS089) has just returned from his trip to Saturn, where he settled his brand-new studio in partnership with some local artists, and brought some heliocentric influences for his forthcoming release on the dangerous and lethal Mexican label Veneno. Featuring three powerful originals and three outstanding remixes – made with love by Velika (Mars), Chinosynth (Jupiter), and Favio Inker (Neptune) –, "Euxphoria EP" combines cosmic vibes with good ol' Mexican Techno and the result is a delight!

We chose one of the originals to premiere: “Las Voces De La Noche” is definitely the theme that presents the most striking interplanetary influences. Ethereal pads, disco stabs, a laser-like percussion, a bouncing bassline… together, they bring to life a remarkable piece – one of the best works of Diaz Tech so far. This is only the first release of the year from the prolific and ingenious Mexican producer, and we are already looking forward to checking his future creations.
