"Garzaia" - herons nesting site

A very elusive frog (Adenomera andreae) recorded in the Cuyabeno lagoon, Cuyabeno National Park, Ecuador, March 1st, 1990. Late afternoon, recorded with a portable DAT Technics SV260 with short shotgun microphone Neuman KMR 82.

Altopiano del Cansiglio, Italy, October 2011. Deers roaring and fighting in a grassland surrounded by woodlands and mountains. Foggy and cold evening. Two Audiotechnica AT4022 angled 60°, capsules spaced 18cm, covered with a soft cloth for wind protection. Microphone height 20cm above grass level. Recorder Sonosax MiniR82 powered with Lithium batteries.
At the first part of the recording some deers are fighting in the backgrounds (listen to the flapping horns). Note the reverberation!

Currently teaching bioacoustics at the University of Pavia, Italy. Mostly interested in nature sounds, soundscapes, marine mammals, and in recording techniques.
