We are going on a detour from the boppy optimism of yesterday’s ‘self belief’ post and now heading into a darker space to explore a different side of humanity with this collab. To be human is to be conscious of failure, love, loss, pain, joy, fear and everything in between. Light cannot exist without dark and so for me, creativity feels best when it captures the fluid and ever-changing nature of what it is to be human. 

I have always been drawn to melancholy melodies, so when I stumbled across this gorgeous instrumental composition called Endless Failures by @rooydad yesterday, I found myself humming a melody and creating lyrics almost instantly. It had captured me.

I felt compelled to record my idea and send it to him. So I did. 

@rooydad is very talented. Check out the original version on his page, which is much longer and far more cinematic than the small snippet I used here. It is accompanied by this video he created, featuring scenes from movie, The Revenant.
