Straight out of Japan’s night scene, Takeaki Maruyama aka Goth-Trad is taking over this episode of Bass Music hosted by The Untouchables.

Goth-Trad has been composing dubstep since 2005 and has started a dubstep party series, Back to Hill, launched in Tokyo around the same time which led to his first international releases including a series of 12" EPs and later an album out on seminal UK dubstep label DEEP MEDi MUSIK.

He became a household name internationally and regularly played DJ sets and live acts around the world. In 2014, he launched his own label, Back To Chill and around 2016 he started to turn towards more experimental sounds again, both on his solo releases and with his new band Eartaker before he finally returned to releasing dubstep in 2021.

Oblig's imprint 'Obligated Records' returns with the 3rd drop of their vinyl/digital EP series: Patchworks Vol.1. With versatile Münich-based producer Skee Mask joining forces with Rinse FM's MJK, the pair bring two distinct flavours to the table. Side A features Grime-veteran & longstanding member of Roll Deep, Riko Dan; with Side B closing with 2 heavy floor-filling instrumentals.

re:lax HQ finishes off a stellar year with their third and final record of 2024 - WONDA. Following re:ni's head spinning debut, Laksa comes with more arsenal for the club. Sampling iconic grime hype escalation, that energy is channeled into 3 UK sound-system techno cuts. Razor synths, drum workouts, visceral bass-weight with vocal psychedelia, this is sonic exploration and experimentation with a FWD spirit.

3024 TAPES are back! This time with a live recording of Martyn performing at Germany's best sounding club, Wuppertal's own Open Ground on Nov 16th 2024 - Enjoy.

3024: Please describe the mix in a single sentence ?

Martyn: This was my first gig on Open Ground's system and I loved every second of it. The set kind of meanders to connect between a few tracks I decided I really wanted to hear on that sound, like Archangel, an old Aux88 jam and Hieroglyphic Being's "21 Ways". 


3024: What DJ inspires you at the moment / has inspired you throughout the years and why?

Martyn: This particular night was with two of my fave DJ's, Jossy Mitsu ; who, without a doubt along with Ehua, Mia Koden and Re:ni are in my opinion leading the charge at the moment when it comes to bass music in the UK.  And an old favorite Joker - who I hadn't heard for years but was just incredible, playing a crazy set of grime instrumentals, dubstep classics, oddball electronica and even mixing a Joy Division record into an old DMZ (!!) 


3024: What are you working on / what have you got forthcoming?

Martyn: There's some incredible music coming on 3024 which I am very excited about. Also more 3024 Tapes and a few little jams by myself under my Gabe & Jude alias.

DJ'ing since 1997, Cid Poitier was Influenced by 90's Jamaican dancehall, but when Jungle broke onto the scene he found a new outlet for his musical passion. Since then he has taken the progressive journey into Drum and Bass, Early Dubstep and more recently Deep Minimal Experimental sounds which encompass his countless influences from the 90's and beyond. Cid Poitier's music is heavily inspired by these genres and the rich cultural melting pot that is South London.
