Marcus Fischer has been a staple figure in modern ambient and experimental music for the better part of the last decade. Characterized by his masterful use of tape loops, Fischer's works also build space and emotion through layers of baritone guitar and modular synths. His solo debut, 'Monocoastal', was released on 12k in 2010 to international acclaim. Over the course of his career, he has partnered with several artists: Matt Jones (as Unrecognizable Now), Ted Laderas/The OO-Ray, Simon Scott, Devin Underwood. His collaborations with Taylor Deupree, with whom Fischer released 'Twine' in 2015, are masterclasses in shared voice and restraint.

Fischer is a longstanding member of lines (www.llllllll.co), the online community that surrounds Eurorack module and instrument maker monome.

Marcus Fischer: SOUND + PROCESS # 5

I deconstructed much of the prior patch. I then went about re-tuning almost everything as I realized that progress had rendered the lowest note quite flat. There were other issues as well. It should all be "Rockin' Like Dökken" now.

I changed everything on the Metasonix Wretch Machine including the routing through the TM-series of pedals. Wretch oscillator 1 is now FM'ing the TM-1 VCA. I'm also purposely distorting the TM-2 Dual Band-Pass Filter.

The Metasonix KV-100 is acting as a drum voice and is routed through a Moog Moogerfooger Ring Modulator. 

The Analogue Systems RS-290 has been pulled from the patch and all delay is coming from the Electrix Mo-FX.

This is an exploration of what can be accomplished in an 18-panel case with only a few ancillary pieces of gear. I'm trying to get things down to a laptop, Native Instruments Maschine and the Mo-FX. I'm almost there.

Yes, there are the following issues: bad-timing, stagnant passages, distortion & knuckleheadedness. Whaddaya want? It was recorded live as it happened.
