On Blair Witch - I was a grad student at UCLA at the time, and lots of big movie premieres were held at these big theaters in Westwood (the district just south of campus).  My roommate went to Blair Witch on opening weekend, and they were giving out "press kits" with newspaper clippings etc about these missing teens and the found footage.  My roommate and some friends were convinced that it was all real.  I don't think you could do that today.  It wasn't pre-internet, but even then in the late 90s we weren't all hyper-online, so they could pull off a semi-hoax like that.

My favourite horror movie is Jurassic Park. I'm not at all sure why people don't consider it in these Horror lists, perhaps with many of its sequels being Action they forget how legitimately scary that first one was! It's got many horror set-pieces and a fair share of jump scares. If Alien is always discussed as a great Sci-Fi Horror classic, then Jurassic Park deserves to be considered as such also.

When Chris says one has to have balls of steel to decide to remake Suspiria, is he referencing the actual balls of steel that Tilda Swinton put in her trousers to walk like a man in it?

I don't understand why that ending is perceived as mysterious. It is said earlier in the film, as a rumour, that the witch would make a kid stand in the corner while she killed the other, then kill the kid in the corner. As everyone knows, rumours in movies are always true, and that ending just confirms it. It is scary and unsettling as all hell, but not mysterious to me.

Clockwork Orange isn't masochistic at all. On the contrary, it's a very sadistic movie.

The best recent horror movies to me aren’t fully horror, but they pull off horror well. The Lighthouse, Ex Machina, and even The Green Knight to a degree do it very well. Of course, The Babadook and Hereditary are excellent and are actually “horror”.

I heard a rumor that originally in the scene where people are running out of the tent in Blair Witch and the girl goes “wtf was that!” They actually had the camera briefly reveal woman/the witch, but then they decided against it 

God, I despise the practice of giving sequels the exact same name as the original. There's probably a bunch of studies or whatever that show it boosts sales a fraction of a percent because people don't get as intimdated by feeling like they need to be familiar with the entire franchise to "get" the new installment, but it's so annoying having to specify "Halloween 2018" or "God of War PS4" or whatnot.

i watched Blair Witch Project t again the other day and forgot in the opening act they talk about a serial killer that made 1 of his 2 child victims face the corner as he killed the other
