On the 19th October 2017 an astronomer at an observatory in Hawaii was looking into deep space when he saw something unusual. Through the lens of his telescope he saw an object that didn't behave like anything he had ever seen before. It was travelling very fast and was following no recognised orbit. It soon became clear that this object had originated from an unimaginably distant place in the depths of interstellar space, far beyond our solar system. Some members of the astronomy community began to postulate that this strange object might be something other than just a comet; maybe this object was a visitor from a distant world? The object was named 'Oumuamua' after the Hawaiian for 'Scout'. I wonder what a visitor from a distant civilisation might think of our planet. What would a visitor from another world feel about the custodians of this unique and beautiful place? How would they view the greed and short term thinking that is destroying the planet, how would they view war, poverty, disease, drought and famine? Surely they would see that all of these things are avoidable, they would see how the masses always suffer at the hands of a few who would rather build fortunes they can never spend, than work towards the betterment of the planet and its inhabitants. What must they think of us?
This collection of songs were written over the last two years, set against the backdrop of unprecedented upheaval and global challenges. Sadness and joy, darkness and light, each song is a chapter in the story of how we have arrived at this point in time and space, and where we might be headed in the future.

Stone Free Berlin are thrilled to announce the release of Florian Kruse’s first solo album “Nordic Soul”.

“Nordic Soul” is the culmination of Florian travelling through time in the studio during COVID lockdowns with a look to the past and a look into the future.

15 years ago he released his first EP ‘Thoughts’ on vinyl and has since become a prolific solo producer and collaborator.
Release highlights to name just a few include Wiretappeur - 'Everybody Loves Ice Cream’ on John Digweed’s Bedrock label in 2011.

Kruse & Nuernberg - 'Yokohama Nights feat. Brolin’ (with almost 2 million streams on Spotify) on Exploited Records in 2015,
TheGround (Florian Kruse & Hendrik Burkhard) - ‘Raise Your Glass’ on Suara in 2017 and Julian Wassermann & Florian Kruse - 'Gotland’ on Kompakt in 2019.

His release history is a mirror of the "Nordic Soul" album vibe and explains the wide range of sounds and styles of the tracks.
Florian, who also works as sound designer and composer for documentaries, loves to experiment with sounds and to play around with musical elements, combining them to create something new.
His roots stretch back to the late 90's with a deep passion for electronic music that still resonates to this day. This album truly blends the sound of the past with the sound of today. Creative reinforcement comes from rising star JOPLYN, as well as established names including Kevin Knapp, Thomas Gandey, Tesla Nix, blaktone and Florian’s long time collaborator Julian Wassermann.

The track ‘Unity’89’ with the vocals of JOPLYN and a catchy piano hook line shows the love for the 90’s while the title and focus track 'Nordic Soul' samples sounds from a summer vacation in Sweden and merges them together with classic beat elements and a thriving bass line which carries you through the whole track.

‘Rhythm Speech’ with Kevin Knapp is a call to the dance floor, released as the first album single, it has collected great feedback and club support from Laurent Garnier, Jamie Jones, Digitalism and Sam Divine to name a few. ‘Lost In Translation’ featuring both JOPLYN and Julian Wassermann is an emotional ride to let go and be carried away by the music.

Over the last decade Florian has travelled around the world playing shows on every continent, collecting great memories and stories and started processing them also in the studio while producing music when COVID hit. ‘I realised that I just kept going without processing what I had experienced.’ - Florian says. 'COVID pressed the stop button and it actually felt good to make music without the influence of the sound of the dance floors from the weekends.’ - Florian continues.

He also explains: ‘My album Nordic Soul mirrors the two hearts in my chest for the love to live life in big cities with cultural inspiration and almost endless opportunities but also the love for nature and the woods. The combination of living in the suburbs of Hamburg AND in the city centre of Berlin is what works for me and I have tried to put my feelings for both worlds into the music on the album.'
’Nordic Soul’ is Florian’s 3rd album after Kruse & Nuernberg - “Let's Call It A Day” in 2012 and TheGround - “Dediction” in 2017. It will be released on the 3rd of March 2023, the same day Florian turns 40 and begins a new chapter in life with a bang.

Cinematique was found in the beginning of 2010 by Robin de Lange also known by some of his friends as the 'Manual Driver' for driving Manual Music artists around the country to their gigs. The label started as a Manual distribution label first and has become an official sister label of Manual Music since 1 January 2012.

Cinematique presents itselves as the widescreen of electronic music. It explores the boundaries from house to techno and everything in between. Cinematique offers a platform for open minded producers, known and unknown, who wants to spread their music into this universe. The label will have a strong focus on creativity, originality, danceability and diversity.
