about #BlackGummy:
BlackGummy is the creation of Los Angeles-based producer Iman Marouf, who discovered the mysterious entity known as BlackGummy during a transformative journey in 2013. This encounter sparked a unique fusion of identities, driving BlackGummy’s obsessive quest for mastery in sound design and music production. Under the mentorship of renowned producer Steve Duda, Iman also contributed to the development of the legendary synthesizer Serum, adding to his growing reputation for forward-thinking sound design and music production.

In 2015, mau5trap quickly recognized BlackGummy’s unique prowess and released his first original track, “Lullaby,” followed by the critically acclaimed Singularity EP in 2016. This release set the tone for BlackGummy’s dark, cinematic sound and led to a trilogy of EPs — including Impactor and Monolith — each exploring profound themes and earning praise from industry giants.

Following his own headline tour and standout performances at festivals such as EDC Las Vegas, EDC Mexico, EDC Guangdong, Lollapalooza, BUKU Music + Art Project, and Shambhala — among many others — BlackGummy continues to push the boundaries of electronic music.

Now, after completing his trilogy, BlackGummy stepped back to create his most ambitious body of work yet — a project larger in scope than all three EPs combined, and his most expansive concept to date. This new era launched with a headline show at Sound for the We Are Friends event and a direct support slot for deadmau5 in London. Entering a new chapter, BlackGummy is preparing to unveil his long-awaited debut album, set to begin rolling out on mau5trap starting August 22, 2025, with the full release arriving later this year.

MaMan marks an important chapter in his artistic journey with the release of Echoes of Home, a debut album shaped by years of searching for identity, sound, and purpose. After a period of experimenting and questioning, one theme continued to return: a deep love of nature and a growing concern for its disappearance.

When nature is not just a backdrop but the essence of life itself, our connection with it also carries a sense of loss - the ache of watching it slowly fade away. Turning to music as a response, MaMan seeks to capture those emotions, preserving both the beauty and the urgency within sound. Through atmospheric textures, evolving melodies, and emotive breakdowns, this album reflects on the fading echoes of a world we once knew while carrying a thread of hope - the belief that there is still time to preserve what remains and even to restore what has been lost.

More than a collection of tracks, Echoes of Home stands as a statement of intent: music as a vessel for memory, reflection, and possibility. With this album, MaMan emerges as a distinctive voice in melodic electronic music, offering a journey that resonates as deeply on the dance floor as it does in the heart.
