An electro beat with some oriental flavor, I imagine it was typical for the 90's sort of mix between exotic sacrality and hitech vibes, a bit absurd but popular combination back in the days. 

Made almost entirely with my old Roland JV-2080 except from one channel in the end. I started with the JV, thought I could replace every sound with the Cobalt which I obviously couldn't and still keeping the vintage character, thus I switched back to JV except for one sound simply for novelty, the bandpass melody from 3:15 and on. Everything you create with the JV becomes instant dark and dull, robust but with lack of...bite. Digital, yet warm. All other synths become too bright and thin in comparision. It's both a reward and a obstacle when mixing together.

To me it sounds like early cd rom PC games. I guess old JV synths are what you can call non-vst sounding - good or bad? Drums from the SR-JV80-15 Sound FX Collection which is surprisingly fun to browse for all sort of sounds, even drums. Reverb and delay from Valhalla. Compression and EQ from Waves and Ableton stock. Some Don Solaris patches here and there which I like a lot. Great addition to the factory presets (even though he has taken some of them from the 2080 bank E).
