Play this drone in loop with iTunes > http://www.apple.com/de/itunes/download/ and sing above it. — 

First try to sing one long note above it, but different to the drone-note. — Try another note. — Try to sing a simple child-song above it. — Try to sing your own little melody-lines above it. — 

As an advanced musician and singer, try to sing modal, that means, switch in using different tone-material, different scales: Ionian (Major-Scale), Aleolian (Minor-Scale)… For that, see the scales below. — The drone-note is your base note, the first note in your scale, the "1". You can always refer back to this base. — 

At first sing the scale step for step up and down. Show and tip yourself the stepnumbers to your fingers: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 and higher into the next octave 8 9 10 11 12 13  — Then you can sing little packages up and down: 1 2 3 4 – 3 2 – 3 4 5 - 4 3 2 … — Then you can try singing two steps at once: 1 3 5 3 1 - 2 4 6 4 2 - … for example try the delicious Harmonic-Minor-Scale: 1-23-4-56--71 > http://soundcloud.com/ebelingart/moll-harm

Then you can sing little melody-lines in the scale. Try simultaneously point the step-numbers of your melody to your fingers. —
