Greetings // Salutations

My name is E//N, and this is Smokey McPot Productions. Here, you’ll find an assortment of my personal song edits, remixes, and DJ mixes // mixtapes.

I’ve been DJing, unprofessionally - just as a hobby, since around 2001... back before any YouTube tutorials, BPM counters & sync—buttons, software // laptops, etc... I’ve literally taught myself and developed my technique mostly by watching other DJs perform at raves, and filled in the rest with good ol curiosity and experimentation.

Only recently have I begun to re-record a bunch of my older mixes, digitally, as they were originally recorded onto 60 minute or 90 minute cassette tapes via AUX on a basic Walmart stereo that I plugged into the mixer.  But I have also been recording newer sets from the past 5 years or so... covering multiple genres. I tend to prefer the darker and heavier sides of electronic music, but am not exclusive to it. 

I don’t do this for recognition, or clout, or monetization. And I’m not the kind of DJ spinning the latest hits. The tracks I select for my mixes speak to ME, they’re the songs and remixes that I love. I put songs that mean something to me into an order that not only blends well, but makes sense to me. So I guess this actually makes me a bad DJ, hence the hobby. But don’t get it twisted, I’ve been doing this long enough to know how to read a crowd, and get a party started. 

Regardless, I believe I’ve rambled on here quite enough for now. Any questions, please feel free to contact me. And constrictive criticism is not only accepted, but encouraged. Let me know your opinions good or bad, just don’t be a prick about it is all I ask. 

Music has gotten me through a lot of shit in this life. It isn’t much, but this is my way of giving back. I genuinely hope you’ll find something I’ve posted here that will make your ears smile.
