this is a demo recording of my modified CB-55 build, i added BD/SD pitch and reso controls, snappy volume, hi hat tone can be changed to something more reasonable; also an open/closed hi hat circuit + hi hat decay has been built in, not available on the original unit. rough sound comes from the deliberately extreme biased accent circuit, it always is active but i never use the accent trigger, that helps a bit to create the more extreme BK kicks.

i put a lot of my free time into this, the modding details are all on the circuit benders site, lets make this world better by sharing things and saying thanks, eh?

A music score in four movements for an imagined ballet - inspired by numerous visits to the Royal Opera House and in particular the choreography of Wayne McGregor and the performances of dancers Lauren Cuthbertson and Ed Watson. The piece also takes inspiration from the 1961 Alain Resnais film "Last Year At Marienbad"

Playful “synthwave" track made for a fun little reddit Halloween challenge. Rules were to incorporate field recordings & write using horror themes.

Field recordings used: Trona Pinnacles, Ballarat Playa, and Elmer’s Bottle Tree Ranch Route 66 on a rainy midnight.

Equipment: Minitaur / ESQ-1 / Mono & Retroverb Lancet / E-Mu Drumulator Samples / VHS & Cassette tape

All the preset drum loops from a crappy Bontempi drum machine we found in a cupboard. Theres something kind of magical about the punchy flapping of its astonishing lo-fi shitness! A few have backing tracks included.

Download them for free and use them however you want. Or don't. It makes no difference to us. You can roll them up and smoke them for all we care.

Free Bontempi Drum Loops

LTC1799 based system reclocking mod on an Alesis Microverb II. The mod adds a knob that controls the processing speed of the DSP, allowing you to adjust reverbs from short twangs to huge walls of gritty glacial noise.

As with many processors from this era, the reclocking knob does add a certain amount of high pitched whine at lower clock speeds, but this is not so noticable when the knob is moving, and can be effectively EQ'd out if the clock speed is stationary. The whine disappears around halfway round the dial.
 
We've made no attempt to remove the whine on this demo.
