Her mixtape will take you on a deep journey and offers some perfect blends of gentle breakbeats, stompy, punchy, and drilling rhythms, combined with modern vocal samples, warm keys & synths, atmospheric pads and soundscapes in between. 🔥
As a Tumblr-era urban dweller, Nastya constructs hybrid dj-set/live performances utilizing loops cut from YouTube videos, thus exploring both the potential of four-deck mixing and the sonic treasury that is the Internet for a keen ear like hers. 🎧 But Nastya's talents span across various creative and cultural activities. She produces and composes music, performs live solo and collaborates with other artists. She has performed at CTM festival, Berghain, and Mariana Berezovskaya's project "Letters to Kyiv". Additionally, she has a quarterly residence on EOS radio and a residence at Kyiv's fine ∄. She also co-runs the electronic music school Module.Exchange, where she shares her knowledge and experiences with others. Enough words, let the music speak! 🎶🎵

In the vast expanse of the new artificial age, where art becomes a spectacle of illusionary miracles, an extraordinary project is underway: Evod.

Evod is a superb artist, musician, composer, producer, DJ, and live performer, who combines cutting-edge sounds with ancient mastery. His own pieces are the heart of the tapestry for this episode's creation.

Subtle electric currents flow over the theme, carrying whispers of encouragement. These subliminal effects span through frequency raids, random bell melodies, granulated hi-hats, and confused samples of breaks, distinguishing the composition and reinforcing the unlimited artistic wisdom.

The episode is a wit incubator of unique mix gestures, where you will notice the field enclosing the structure, protecting it from the harsh vacuum outside. While the predictable aspects are impressive, the invisible elements truly set it apart.

He works genuinely to perform the art of instant realization. The value is not just to grant moves of matter, but to create pathways between dimensions, which are imbued with enchantment blends of sonic revitalization and movement re-invention. Alessandro Russo, known as Evod, is son of art and approached music at the age of 11 listening to Detroit Techno. Over the years he has played and published under various pseudonyms, but in 2015 he defined his artistic personality with a unique alias: Evod, the same name of his label.

He has released music on labels like Warm Up, Semantica, Float Records and Singular Records. In addition to performing at various clubs, he also made his debut at Tresor and Moog. 

His sets, primarily on vinyl, are notable for their robust and deep sounds, influenced by ambient elements. Alessandro’s artistic journey continues to evolve and captivate audiences to this day.

Welcome to yet another hypnotic experience, in this case by the great https://soundcloud.com/mateohurtadomusic.

Mateo Hurtado creates hypnotic techno and experimental music. Inspired by the surrealist movement, obscure symbolism and ritualistic incantations, his music seeks to invoke the hidden, impossible images buried in the unconscious.

Be it as a DJ or live performer, his intuitive approach seeks to overcome conventional boundaries of the genre, sending the listener on an ever spiralling journey through polyrhythmic drumwork imbued with otherworldly melodies and dronelike, shifting atmospheric soundscapes.

He has released on labels like Annulled Music, Secuencias Temporales, Space Drum Meditation and Accents Records among others.

K49, born and raised in the Eastern part of Berlin, growing up playing the guitar and bass, he began his journey as a Techno DJ and producer in 2018. Kicking-off his musical journey the 
 city’s competitive scene, K49 established as Co-founder and resident DJ the Berlin-based event series and record label „Legion“. Known for his raw, analogue-sounding sets, K49’s music resonates with a heavy, pounding energy that mirrors his Berlin roots — intense and full of weight. During his time living in Lisbon his sound evolved. Inspired by the sun, sea, and the laid-back yet profound atmosphere of the coastal city, K49 deepened his approach, incorporating deeper, more ritualistic elements into his sets and performances. From then on, he took on a hypnotic, almost transcendental quality, blending sun- soaked warmth into dark, atmospheric depths. K49’s love for surprises within his sets keeps listeners engaged, as he expertly weaves unexpected, catchy elements into his compositions while maintaining a coherent narrative throughout his performances.

With this straight vision on sound design and composition, he digs for sonic elements and loopy patterns to create a larger, more intricate picture - using sounds as colors. Driven by quality and attention to detail, K49 continually refines his sound, merging both old and new influences to create a unique auditory experience. Nowadays, his deep, fast grooves often intertwine with polyrhythms, and his intricate use of base, rides, and claps extends the foundational rhythms. In 2025, K49 has set his sights on pushing his musical journey as a music producer. Aiming to give something back to the scene he came from he is currently focusing more on his productions such as first single and EP
releases.

Eluzid is an upcoming DJ from Berlin’s techno and house scene, known for her dynamic and genre-blending sets. Her musical journey began in her youth, driven by a deep passion for exploring music and subcultures. She delved into various scenes and found her way into DJing during the pandemic. While electronic music is now her primary focus, her diverse influences continue to shape her sound. With the reopening of Berlin’s clubs post-pandemic, Eluzid quickly
found her rhythm behind the decks, drawn to the energy of the city’s nightlife. Her broad musical curiosity is reflected in her genre-defying approach, where she is unafraid to step away from conventional sounds or moods. Her sets are fluid yet full of contrast, smoothly groovy yet full of unexpected twists that keep the crowd engaged. For Eluzid, music is a spectrum with endless possibilities. She thrives in an environment free from rigid categories, where creativity flows
and sounds can evolve. In recent years, she has graced the decks of venues like Watergate, Tresor, Else, and has shared her energy with the world through livestreams such as HÖR.

Nerya is a Turkey-born DJ whose journey began in Paris, debuting at Nexus and later performing with a Paris-based underground collective. She quickly became part of the music scene in Ankara and Istanbul, bringing a unique style that blends playful grooves with a touch of funk and cheek. Her sets are crafted to make people move, smile, and lose track of time. Known for keeping things fun and unpredictable, she brings high energy with feel-good rhythms—but she’s not afraid to throw in a darker, harder track when you least expect it.


RIOTWAVES SERIES 41 - NERYA

@juhokusti, DJ, producer and founder of Deep Space Helsinki based in Berlin. 

1/ Who are you? What do you do?
I have been playing record for the last 20 years, I have a radio show called Deep Space Helsinki that I have been doing with my dear friend, Samuli Kemppi, for over 10 years now. We also expanded to a record label of the same name in 2012 and did a couple of vinyl releases but it's been on a hiatus for while. I have also produced music for labels such as Semantica, MindTrip, Reclaim Your City and provided remixes to other labels as well. I have had residencies at Helsinki's Kaiku Club, Kuudes Linja (where we used to organize Deep Space Helsinki parties between 2011-2016) and Ääniwalli but since my move to Berlin in 2016 I've had to give them up, unfortunately. I also share label duties with my friend, Ville Vähäsaari, for our label, No Future But What We Make, but we've only put out one record since we established the label, so things are running pretty slow. Other than that, I am a pretty easy-going guy.

2/ If you were a movie character, who would you like to be?
Godzilla, very randomly.

3/ If music didn't exist, what job would you like to do?
Film Editor

4/ The naughty / improbable anecdote during a gig?
I was kicked out of my own gig once, for selling my free drinks to the customers. There was this shitty bar I was playing with a couple of older guys right when I had started playing records. We got pretty hammered and then these customers kept mistaking the DJ booth for the bar so I thought: "Fuck it, let's get these idiots their drinks and overcharge them". That didn't go too well with the bar management and I was relieved of my duties and got banned from the bar.
