Woohoo.....Who Dani????   Amazing....Exciting!!!!

Kenneth Scott has been a celebrated collaborator in the electronic music scene, having worked on successful projects such as Moniker's "Billy D" anthem and Straylight EP with Dave Aju, and having contributed to KAMM LP's "Cookie Policies". His latest release on Circus Company, the "Light Blooming" EP, showcases his expert synth wizardry and production skills, with three tracks that blend classic electronic music traditions with contemporary flair.

The EP's opening track, "Firesound", is a funky Detroit-style electro number with glimmering pads and tight arpeggios. "Lost Sonar", the second track, is a smooth deep house cut with warm synth tones and sharp percussion that create a contrasting feel, while the titular track "Light Blooming" features fierce and raw drum programming that leads to a mighty sub bass line and multi-layered arps, building to a glorious harmonic apex before gently bringing the listener back down.

Overall, the "Light Blooming" EP is a showcase of Kenneth Scott's expressive musical class and funk precision, filled with early-Warp feels and futurist sci-fi hopes.

Conceptually the direction of this new project refers to the use of technology to alter our dreams, inadvertently or not, as so much tech advancement becomes available and ingrained in our daily lives. The timely lead single here inspired by Abraham’s South African ancestors the Khoi San people and the guidance they provide, appropriately exuding both futurist formed sonics and dream-like tenderness in content, led by his dulcet-toned vocals and delivered with the super solid production we’ve come to expect. Wonderful multi-purpose electronic music which will find itself right at home on late-night discerning dance floors, or indeed guiding the listener through their respective travels, solo meditations or get-downs in headphones.

Along with the excellent “Guiding Me” original mix, we are graced with a masterful remix by Hamburg’s Lawrence of Smallville and Dial fame, who takes the track into an even more floor-focussed realm with his patented rolling sub-bass lines which will guarantee plenty of summertime sound system finessing, as well as the EP-exclusive B2 track “Vigor” in which Portable goes even deeper in tone with classic styled vocal cut-ups and repurposed shards of tasty sound design added to keep the dancers endlessly entranced when and wherever they may be.

Announcing Portable’s new album, out October 13th. Now that the smoke has settled after his My Sentient Shadow LP in 2022, the Paris based South African producer comes back in fine form with a new full-length LP, Augmented Dreams and drops a fresh first single tilted 'The Color of Static' (premiered here) which will be available on all platforms from tomorrow September 15th. Alan Abrahams let his instinctual side fly again with a surprising broken beat feels track. Portable once again moved our senses with his deep vibes and hypnotic grooves across seven slowly-building minutes.

The second single from the record is a downtempo cut layering brooding vocals. "'The Pull of Time' is a reflection on the cyclic nature of time, be it politics, fashion or music," Portable muses.

After eight years immersed in songwriting and production, Dani Siciliano is ready to return with her third solo LP "DANI SICILIANO". Ahead of the LP's release on Circus Company, the lead single shines a light on one of the album’s undoubted highlights and offers it up for some intriguing dancefloor variations that nod to her house music roots. “I’m The Question” revels in the playful and unconventional approach to pop that has always guided
Dani’s music, and so gives a perfect teaser of what the full album has in store. Her voice soars in a multi-layered swirl of crafty production while the arrangement crackles with an energy that reflects the rousing message of the lyrics. It’s an urgent intonation of positivity that should motivate anyone to get up and move, but it communicates this idea in a most delightfully unusual of ways.
Rising Parisian house head Ben Vedren offers up a remix of the lead track, building on his refined releases for Minibar and Concrete Music amongst others. He brings a noticeably tough undercurrent to his version, using a driving bass-weighted drum set to carry artful slices of Dani’s vocals through a club-ready confection with carefully placed brushstrokes of warmth and melody.
Ben Vedren also turns his hand to the Acapella Remix, stripping the production of the original track right back and replacing it with a simple rhythmic guidance to leave ample space for the vocals to stand on their own. With nothing but a steady grooving kick and snare loop in the way, it’s a track crying out for the kind of creative mixing that music as unique as Dani’s is perfectly suited to.
