Since his first Submorphics release on The North Quarter, the Detroit native has tenaciously developed his unique brand of lo-fi, deep drum & bass. With his new six-track EP ‘Verona Highway’, the Den Haag-based producer has created what he calls “a late night Detroit to Chicago road trip aesthetic”. Rooted in the underground, this project is an assemblage of techno, footwork and soulful house influences fused with his own signature earworm melodies, deep minor chords and the modern North Quarter drum & bass sound. The result is an EP that feels emotive and nostalgic while maintaining a modern atmosphere. 

‘Verona Highway’ marks the return of Submorphics to The North Quarter, just over a year after his critically acclaimed Newport Magnetic EP. Reminiscent of night time drives and peaceful after hours, the EP is a collection of warm, dreamy and sentimental music and is the ultimate soundtrack for serene summer nights.

After years of unforgettable releases on the mighty Hospital Records, Cambridge-raised producer Hugh Hardie, having recently made the move over to Soulvent Records, prepares to deliver his third and arguably most exciting studio album: 'Juicebox'. With the tone set by the first two singles ‘Blush’ featuring Zara Kershaw and ‘Face Off’ with PAV4N of Foreign Beggars, 'Juicebox' showcases the remarkable extent of Hugh's musical prowess and boasts a wealth of rich collaborations, including the likes of Footsie, Degs, Killa P and more. 
‘RWTS’, Hugh’s third Soulvent single, sees the Cantabrigian producer join forces with label mates In:Most and vocalist Kojo. The result is an infectious slice of soulful drum & bass bubbling with groove, funk and emotion. Signature Hugh Hardie piano licks float above crunchy drums, driving synth stabs and warm bass notes, providing the perfect platform for the unmistakable vocal tones of Kojo.

20 years ago A Sides released Break’s debut track on his imprint East Side Records, opening a door for him to the DnB scene at large. Finally the day has come where Break can return the favour and drop an A Sides cut on Symmetry. 

It was worth the wait as A Sides delivers a sublime single, covering two distinct styles in the process. 'Chances’ has a classy soulful sound, tight crispy beats, and smooth production subtly restrained with a meditative edge. ‘Only One Sound’ is a classic roller, murky dubbed out flavours, steppy beats heavily underpinned by fizzy sub bass. Break has been playing this on dub for quite a while and it fits perfectly into the Symmetry catalogue.

Introducing A Minute After Always EP - the superb debut for Integral Records from liquid legends in the making, Satl & Malaky, with features from Harland, GLXY and our resident soulster Steo on vocal duty.

Opening with the hypnotizing title track "A Minute After Always", this A-side roller is already proving to be a firm favourite. Epitomizing deep soul bass music crafted for the dancefloor, its slick, subterranean melodies and bass in perfect harmony with Steo make musical magic.
On the flip, Satl rolls out an instant classic by the name of "Lovin' U". Emotive vocals and piano hooks reminiscent of oldschool funk and soul layer wonderfully over slick punchy breaks and sly bass for ultimate vibes and groove control.

Toulouse's master craftsman Redeyes delivers his fourth album “Selfportraits” on Amsterdam imprint The North Quarter. Known for his deeply detailed, emotive take on Drum & Bass, the French pioneer has a career spanning over 15 years. After three previous projects on The North Quarter – including 2018's opus “Broken Soul” - he now returns with the profound “Selfportraits”. Written almost exclusively during the Covid-19 crisis, this album captures a time spent in sheltered reflection. Drawing on both musical influences and personal beliefs this album is both deeply personal and touches on important issues of our times.

“The album was made during the lockdown and it all came together quickly. I was just spending time at home with my kids, splitting time between making music and home-schooling. It was just a time where I felt sheltered and comfortable with the music just flowing naturally,” Redeyes explains. “My music is not just dance music. I've always seen my art as something that transcends the dance-floor, and all the greatest artists in the world - from painters to singers to actors - have always been engaged in important fights. So why don't we do it, why are we not as engaged as our favourite artists from other genres are? Its time to make the difference, its time to be the change. This album is musically what reflects the core of my Drum & Bass sound. But this album is not just my own self-portrait - it's also the one of the guests. They speak the truth from their hearts out loud.”

This album is a journey through vintage soulful Drum & Bass, soundscapes and beats and sees Redeyes at his most inspired. Through ten carefully pieced together tracks, the listener is transported through a mosaic of influences and emotions. With featured artists such as [ K S R ], Lovescene, Juga-Naut, DRS and DJ Flight, an important narrative is added to the warm and serene instrumentation. Redeyes continues to uplift and inspire: a soft spoken, gentle soul with a clear vision of music.
