i seemed to have forgot how it feels 
among the means, you fall in between the paths of diverging appeal 
i’d let the darkness blind by discrete design 
and follow the passersby

this time i said so long 
to subliminal reflections 
and the wired connections 
that keep us hanging on

make sense of the noise

from the pauses, music’s in the sound

in the spaces, the melodies abound

so when you feel like you’ve got a little older

up above, we wrote our stories in the sand
inversing words and rhythms with pictograms
we spoke of the future in the present tense
and soon enough, the air above began to condense
towards liftoff
only one idea rang with common sense:
that we are flawed, but our hearts beat with temperance.
in the breadth
of all you see
this place is holy
sing the depths impossibly
and hear the presence calling
our desperation is like a stray breeze, scattered aloft and dispersed
moving through transient temperatures
sometimes I got so afraid, I know you did too
and I hate this longing, but it keeps me pure

in the void hours’ run

surging from innermost extremes

The alchemical Great Work, or Magnum Opus, is a term refering to the completion of the transmutation of base matter into gold. It has subsequently been used as a metaphor for spiritual transformation.

It originally had four stages:

nigredo, blackening: corruption, dissolution, individuation
albedo, whitening: purification, burnout of impurity; the moon, female
citrinitas, yellowing: spiritualisation, enlightenment; the sun, male
rubedo, reddening: unification of man with god, unification of the limited with the unlimited.

It is in citrinitas that the Chemical Wedding takes place, generating the Philosophical Mercury without which the Philosopher's Stone, triumph of the Work, could never be accomplished. It literally referred to "transmutation of silver into gold" or "yellowing of the lunar consciousness."
Citrinitas stood for the dawning of the "solar light" inherent in one's being, and that the reflective "lunar or soul light" was no longer necessary.
