Approaching what would have been the start of the 2020 Mirage summer season, Cityfox Regenerate on May 9th, we are instead facing a somewhat different reality in experiencing music for the time being. However somber the tone of the world, this has not stopped artists stepping forth with musical creations for us to while away the time in musical splendor. For this Foxcast, on what would have been their Cityfox debut, @Innellea takes on the playing field to come up with a euphonious journey of their own.

Innellea, which initially began as a duo project, began working on their first productions eight years ago in Germany. Eventually, their first releases were on Music Autonomica and Underyourskin Records. Hard work over the years paid off and Innellea’s star rose quickly. Being named by Groove Magazine as best newcomers of the year in 2017 spurred further successes such as EP release “Vigilans” on the widely popular Afterlife imprint, "If Sarah Wouldn’t Cry“ on Innervisons and performances in 33 countries around the world. 2020 is the year of new beginnings, however, with Michael taking over the project after an amicable split with partner Daniel(after he fell sick due to heavy touring and pressure), alongside the release of two new tracks and a remix.

Professing an affinity to “melodies, strong basslines, and crazy arrangements,” this 90-minute Foxcast is a testament to Innellea’s musical style and varied tastes. For them, things as simple as a conversation can serve as inspiration for their music and they do not let themselves be bound by genres. Luring us in with a quote that is relevant to the world’s current situation, the mix takes a plunge into an electric array of effusive synths and epic melodies, interwoven with emotive vocals throughout. At the very end of the mix, us listeners are reminded of the message that launched the Foxcast: to not give up, to stay strong, and to stick together; that even after the strongest thunderstorm follows the most beautiful sunshine - words that cannot ring more true in these uncertain times.
