HIGHTS FM 007 / Super Flu [Monaberry]

A returning Cityfox favorite, Rodriguez Jr. never fails to amaze us whether it’s when he’s doing his live set on our stages or in the studio with his productions. Brought up under the tutelage of the great Laurent Garnier, Rodriguez Jr. has made waves in his own right with his prolific and award-winning music productions. While the world stood still in 2020, Rodriguez Jr. labored without fail in the studio to bring us his third album, Blisss, that came out on mobilee records. Featuring collaborations with his wife, Liset Alea from Nouvelle Vogue, the album is an attestation to his tactful skill in creating epic melodies that never disappoint. 

Taking the time out of his busy release schedule, Rodriguez Jr. has afforded us a spectacular Foxcast that features his own works in addition to a Patrice Baumel remix of Cubicolor, tracks by Agents of Time, Ede, and others. A well-crafted aural journey, Rodriguez Jr. gently steers the listener through the soft waves of melodic and ambient deep house with vestiges of piano keys to harder-hitting tracks where the bassline really sings. Adeptly creating an ebb and flow, he inflects hypnotic and twangy tracks to keep things riveting, though a satisfying melody is never too far behind. 

As the sun shines brighter and the days of spring get longer, there is hope in the air elicited by the sounds of Rodriguez Jr.’s delightful Foxcast. Here’s to hoping that we all may be reunited on the dance floor quite soon and be able to host our favorite artists once more.

"Music transcends us all," that's what Oliver & Tom, composed by Andrés Martynowicz
and Mauricio Infiesta, is all about.
This duo’s symbiosis originated in their childhood. Growing up together, they shared
diverse musical experiences in rock and pop bands, where Andrés excelled in the
electric guitar and Mauricio in the acoustic drums. A few years later, both continued their
studies but now choosing the piano and synthesizer as their main instruments of
production and giving rise to the creation of the electronic music group "Oliver & Tom."
These two Argentinian producers found their way to Progressive House in 2017 when
they signed their first tracks with the famous and very prestigious label "The
Soundgarden," founded by a current legend of the genre, Nick Warren.
Their style can be defined as incorporating groove and emotions in their tracks. “O&T''
have had remarkable releases on imprints such as Balance, Mango Alley, Plaisirs
Sonores, Soundteller, Hoomidas, onedotsixtwo to name a few with heavy support from
Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Mariano Mellino and more. Besides releasing on multiple
labels, they also run their own monthly podcast named "Dreams of Light''.
Oliver & Tom creates a musical alternative and a sound of their own that seeks to
remain at the highest levels of Progressive House so stay tuned for future releases.

"Mayan Warrior once again blew minds at Burning Man. Big sound, big lasers. I got to plug in my USB’s on Monday night and had a great time. Set link in bio.

People take it almost for granted but it’s such a technical and logistical challenge to run an artcar in the desert.

Festival grade tech - generators, PA, lighting etc - has to fit inside a tiny bus and kept running for a week. Overheating is the main danger, mechanical wear and tear due to dust and vibration is substantial. Generators need constant refueling. Easier said than done when the fuel truck does not show up due to sandstorms.

Then you need a bunch of security to keep people from being run over or falling off the artcar. The chaos these crews have to manage is substantial.

It takes a village. 🙏🏽❤️"
