Aporia is an ongoing Internet collab project based around the piano/bass duo 'Kirby/Ward'. Occasionally we capture something at rehearsal that we send to dummer Dane Renshaw (Japan) and guitarist Bruce Musser (U.S.A) to add their respective talents too. Its usually pretty spacious and dreamy : ) For this track we added the talents of Dylan Banks playing the Intonarumori as it seemed the least likely instrument ( and therefore most fun)  to suit this pseudo jazz jam extraction. As always Aporia may or may not record more music

It is a myth that unsigned music equals inferior music; the only way we can blow that myth out of the water is to do it together!

FORMULA THINKING AND BOUNDARIES PUT EXTREME LIMITATIONS ON THE CREATIVE PROCESS; TRUE ART CAN NOT BE PRODUCED WITHIN A RESTRICTED SPACE!

I DON'T BREAK DOWN BOUNDARIES, BECAUSE THERE WERE NO BOUNDARIES IN MY WORLD TO BEGIN WITH!

MUSIC MUST CONTINUE TO EVOLVE, AND THE ECLECTIC APPROACH IS NOW THE ONLY WAY FORWARD, BECAUSE INDIVIDUAL GENRES HAVE BEEN EXHAUSTED!

CREATING WITHIN A SINGLE GENRE, THEREFORE, RESULTS IN REGURGITATION, REPETITION, AND MEDIOCRITY!

And way too much emphasis is placed on production value; actual creativity and diversity are taking a back seat! Inventive lyrics also rarely get the credit they deserve. This indifference to the talents that actually set musicians apart plays into the hands of a money-minded music industry, signing our own death warrants!

Almost on a daily basis I am told by one Soundcloud user after another that my music is crap, that I have zero talent....what do you think? Are they right, or is it a case of sour grapes? And do you think I take it to heart :) No! What's heartbreaking for all of us is....WHEN NO ONE LISTENS!

SECOND COMING OF THE CHAMELEON OF POP: THE MAN WHO BOUGHT THE WORLD instrumentals

SEVERAL MUSICIANS HAVE SUGGESTED I'M A IN A GENRE OF MY OWN, WHICH HAS TO BE THE ULTIMATE ACHIEVEMENT FOR A MUSICIAN!

MY APPROACH HAS ALWAYS BEEN, LET WHATEVER WANTS TO COME OUT, COME OUT; NO PLAN, NO BOUNDARIES, NO FORMULA, AND ON THE FLY! 

With so many people making music--literally tens of millions--there is a serious overcrowding problem, creating a wall of white noise; to stand out from that background, a musician must bring something very different to the table :)

HOPE THE DAY EVENTUALLY ARRIVES WHEN INNOVATION ONCE AGAIN REPLACES REGURGITATION, BUT, IN THE MEANTIME, IMITATION AND REGURGITATION CONTINUES TO GRAB THE AUDIENCE, WHICH IS BAD NEWS FOR THOSE OF US WHO INJECT OUR REAL PERSONALITIES INTO OUR TUNES :)

I COME FROM ONE OF THE MOST INSIGNIFICANT PLACES ON THE PLANET, CREWE! NO BAND OR MUSIC, OR ANY ARTIST REPRESENTING ANY OF THE ARTS, OF ANY SIGNIFICANCE EVER CAME FROM CREWE, AND I KIND OF LIKE THAT; A CREATIVE GIANT EVOLVING FROM A TOTALLY STERILE ENVIRONMENT :)

Music is a great unifier.  Through music, we bridge the gap between race, gender, age, etc., to raise our unified voice, the voice of the human race.  I am thankful for making friends from around the world through music, and I thank these friends for embracing me as I am.  We can't allow people to suffer oppression based on differences.  Instead, we should leverage our differences to make the world stronger and better, and build each other up instead of tearing each other down.  We are one people.  Love, not hate, is the answer.

Thanks for stopping by my page!  I compose music for all types of media in multiple genres, but favor cinematic orchestral or orchestral-synth hybrids with a strong melody.  I'm currently furthering my skills at Berklee College of Music Online, scored the end credits for the Indie film short "Sides," have music available in various film libraries, and have won awards in several film scoring contests, most notably the "Emerging Composer Diversity Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music Composition" in the Marvin Hamlisch Film Scoring Competition 2018.
