Rose-Eva Forgues-Jenkins speaks with Generator host Andrea Wiebe and reflects on her trip across Canada to speak to youth about their thoughts on identity, migration and belonging. The Unheard Youth podcast is produced by the Centre for Race and Culture and showcases youth experiences in four cities across Canada: Fort St. John, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal.

Carding or street checks is the police practice of asking individuals, who are often visible minorities, for their ID regardless if they are suspects in a crime or ongoing investigation. To delve more into the debate surrounding carding I spoke with Desmond Cole a Toronto based journalist and activist, and Inspector Warren Driechel from the Edmonton Police Services.

Phyllis shares her early life experiences prior to and during the residential school, the importance of her orange shirt and how Orange Shirt Day came to be. Additionally, she discusses the generational impacts of the residential schools on indigenous individuals, and what she is doing to help shape a future where nothing like this can occur again.
