Notes on the album. 
Drawing its title from the novel of the same name by Aldous Huxley, the album is a statement of reinvigoration and evolution, a return to the roots of Myagiʼs experience with music after 10 years of releases and 6 years of worldwide gigging and traveling. With one foot placed in rock and funk and the other in acid house and dance music culture, it has already been described as his best work to date, with itʼs lead single “Chaos // Quokka” garnering a whopping 9.5/10 in the August issue of the UKʼs esteemed DJ Mag. 
Showcasing a number of vocal tracks, the album features collaborations with the likes of Chickaboo (whose notable credits include Timo Maasʼs hit Shifter and many tracks with Rennie Pilgrem, etc), Brighton vocalist Kristian Booth and Ontario Canadaʼs Boy In December. Multiple tracks with Mavor himself on vocals are just as compelling - the smoky mantra of “Viper” counterpoints the emotive repetition in “Chaos” and along with the silly funk of “Speaker Humper” are great examples of this artist hitting his stride. Myagi lends not just his voice to his own productions - playing guitar, bass, home made electronic and percussive instruments, and using home made field recordings, this album pulls in many real world elements to compliment the electronic bedrock of the 
music. 
Myagiʼs previous artist album “3 Years Of Sunrise” is a bona fide cult classic - it received near perfect reviews across the board and “Ape and Essence” looks to do at least the same.
