As for most people music is apart of their everyday life, And as from as young age  I can remember music always use to resonate with me on so many deep levels. But always endured the instrumental side of things as you feel the emotions without any words. Thus started a journey into the unlimited world of audio and its  creations.

After leaving Johannesburg at the age of 17. I left South Africa to London, England for what the high light of my learning years of my musical Hobbies would take me. As I was just a DJ  at this time, djing at parties every weekend on my brothers PT 2000 turntables. But the UK music world opened up to me, and in more ways than I can imagine n as I found myself in a more modern world with cheaper technology of all sorts I knew I was in the right place to learn and progress. I had always wondered how all my favorite dance tracks had been made and produced. I definitely knew I was in the right place to learn about that and become a better dj.

So after 11years of traveling the world from UK to France, Belgium, Amsterdam, Thailand, Egypt, Cancun Mexico and others I for some reason strayed away from the DJ scene  unless for friends parties but studio production was a new game to me and it took time and knowledge to do and master than just cross fade 2 songs together so I knew this is going to be something very difficult to learn on my own. So I went looking and found a school called Point Blank music Production College  where one of my favorite artists from back in the day Danny J. Lewis ( Emzin Black) Americanism. Where I did a few courses on Logic Pro which I was using at the time before I had discovered the world of Ableton live.

But the years had past and all you can do is try to get better, with everyday you have to spear as there is so much to learn and music is infinite. So  after my 11year travel around the plane. Back in sunny South Africa. After the passing of my father last year I really started listening to all sorts of instrumentals which iv have always been a multi genre person and iv always like to show that in my work. And I can't help hear sounds and elements that I wanna try put a beat over, and see how it sounds. Hence where DJ Smuggler was Created. But People actually think I got the name Smuggler for remixing my songs or using other samples and making them my own but actually came from the Ale beer in the UK from the Oblivion brewery. They had a ale beer Called the Smuggler and before I had tasted or enjoyed any ale as I was a larger and cider drinker. But after we met, I drank the Smuggler everyday until people actually started calling me the Smuggler. So actually works out in the end as that's exactly what I do to my music..

But still to this day its been a never ending learning experience and I try take in as much as I can and try find new motivations to keep new ideas coming.
