'Higher' is a lush deep house record which finds its inspiration more into the mid-00's era of deep house. More techy and tighter beats in combination with deep pads and lush chords. Advancing into the EP we encounter the soul uplifting 'I Wish I Knew'. A bit reminiscent of summer and its glory days, this record is filled with synths, catchy vocals & that old school groove. Rounding off the EP we have 'Can't You See'. A proper mellow deep house cut. While the EP holds his basis within the deeper sounds, AZIZ brings multiple vibes & energy levels to the table. London 2016, the rebirth of underground Soulful Disco keeps unfolding with more power than ever before, and Los Charly's Orchestra stay firm and loyal to their authenticity after almost a decade its beginning.

LCO gets together with old friend, lead singer, vocal arranger Andre Espeut in order to produce their latest Soulful-Disco conveyor which is due to drop on the online shops as well as record stores under the name of "Sunshine" beginning of June.

Following the Earth Wind & Fire vibe from LCO's previous single: "All Around The World" and also paying tribute to Disco/Soul legend: Maurice White who unfortunately joined the list of "departed music legends" quite recently, here it comes this brand new release.

Containing three versions: Vocal, Instrumental, plus a "Deep Disco Rework" locking us into a kinda "Donald Byrd meets The Detroit Experiment / Blaxplotation / Metro Area" fusion, which is even difficult to categorize but quite interesting to listen at!

Here comes the fourth teaser for the 25 years Compost anniversary 10x12” – box-set. And what a stellar one. First of all, Lorenz Rhode “Back” in a Purple Disco Machine remix. The original was a 12” B-side hidden gem, released 2007 on Compost, but it caused a worldwide stir and became a true worldwide underground hit in the break dance scene. Dozens of break dancers, crews and schools used “Back” for their break dance rehearsals. We have cut a nice video of ca. 20 dancers and crews, which we found on YouTube, showing their amazing moves and grooves with “Back” in background. And to top that: Purple Disco Machine lays his funky disco hands onto it! 2018 was the year for Purple Disco Machine with four of the biggest dance tracks, with almost a few hundred million streams, various No 1 charts hits and as a high point: #2 “Beatport Artist Of All Time”. Nuff said.

Liquid Phonk’s “Starwalk” is a wonderful blax-ploited disco-house ride. It’s one of Michael Reinboth’s favorite tracks of the 25 years anniversary 10x12” box set (out of 42 tracks). Another hit maker brings down a round figure: Spiller, do you remember his world hit “Groovejet” from 2000, he gave the Trüby Trio “Make A Move” a kinda 80’s ska-disco skank groove. Very funny uplifting. Enjoy.

Early 2013 brings new niceness from the Luv Shack. Head honcho, Simonlebon teams up with other Luv Shackers, and comes good with his own lick. Simonlebon has been providing quality through his DJ’ing and productions in recent years, good to see his name at the forefront of this release.

Buddies help out of course, and first to fly is the collab with Jakobin on ‘Can’t Do With You’. Warm and flowing, as is the norm with the LS crew through seven previously wonderful releases. Gentle builds entertain; claps with sunny smiles, and zestful and effective chords do the job admirable. Indeed, you just can’t do without this kind of groove in a set.

LeSale joins forces with Simonlebon for ‘So Many’. Punchier and throwing bigger hits, it’s destined to work up a sweat. Tasty piano, vocal treats, and a tip of the cap to dirty Detroit and classy Chicago do await the floor.

Flip it over on the 12” for ‘All I Can’ and you get more excellence this time containing the fine work of Lee Stevens aiding and abetting Simon. The most atmospheric track on the EP with subtle hints and notes of mystery and lost romance. A sexy and classy ‘bridge’ brings it all home again, and takes it a little further down the road. Gorgeous track!

Finally, Domino lends a helping hand with ’Second Chance’. Again, the mood is majestic and divine. True House music has always contained the pervading tone of life and love, and this is where Luv Shack always come through.

New and old, today and yesterday, you hear it in all their releases. Lights off and listen…and get lost.
