The ‘Down It’ EP marks a century and a half of releases from Clarisse Records, a major achievement from the Swiss label that continues to go from strength to strength. Two relentless, six minute powerhouses with Spanish stings in the tail and a touch of tech expertise commemorate the occasion, with the festival knowhow of Agus O and the rhythm and groove of Manu Soto ready to rock booths in a blaze of sweaty, bassy, funky house glory.
 
A shot to savour, the only way is up on ‘Down It’, a commotion of lively percussion rattling every available surface, and a bass throb consuming big rooms from top to bottom. Setting the foundation for some international hip-house, vocals doing call & response drills to get crowds swinging back and forth, the track unlocks computer game freak-outs along the way. It’s heavyweight, but doesn’t forget to have fun.
 
The same can be said for the sneakily hypnotic ‘Check Out’ – no-time-to-waste, deep house with plenty of clout, and more rap attitude on the vocals, making the dancefloor a fizzing mass of funky lava. Mendo’s debut album ‘Avalon’ lead to an unprecedented year of dominance of the Beatport charts, opening doors to an in-demand international schedule taking in Ibiza residencies and tours Down Under.

Since 2013, the Clarisse Nights label showcase has had all of Europe’s top clubs upholding Mendo's philosophy: "I just want people to have a good time with my music”. These nights are a vibes-heavy vehicle for Mendo and the Clarisse DJs team to put on a party that underlines the label’s signature sound while welcoming the best guest headliners. Artists now know exactly where to go for all their mixdown and mastering needs, trusting in Mendo’s do’s and don’ts to give their beats that extra something for when summer season shouts full steam ahead. 

With the Clarisse DJs roster guaranteeing a roadblock every time they come to town, Clarisse Nights have already made steps en route to a worldwide takeover, capturing hotspots across Ibiza, London and Croatia.
