Hot on the heels of Clarisse's class of 2018 headed by Cristian Merino and Eddy M, Italian architect Ario instructs to 'Turn the Light On', a cunning ploy where the last thing you want is for anything to interrupt your optimum dancefloor darkness. The man behind the Fontek label has stamped his science across a label spread of Glasgow Underground, Sanity, Noexcuse and High Pressure, and arrives at Clarisse intent on tightening the screw.

Seven and a half minutes of a pulsating synth line breaking free from the laboratory, tailor made for extended breakdowns and threatening to leave the dancefloor in a cloud of smoke: that's the core of 'Turn the Light On'. Resolute beats don't back down when barged into by bursts of hip-hop boasters wearing sharp disco strings around their neck, and Ario's undeviating focus will put paid to part timers and those on curfew.

On the remix are Fancy Inc, who posted the 'That Records' EP on Clarisse in 2016. As straight to the point as its predecessor, getting shuffling bass to push the party on from down in the mix and creating an itch that you can't help go back to, the Brazilians are muscular yet pretty nimble in finding a prime palm tree to party under. Ushering handclaps, percussive bounce and twist, that synth line pinging like a neon rubber band, and releases of built up energy in all the right places, put a cocktail in the hand of those whose veins are bulging.

Making his return to Roush Label, Sante Sansone comes bearing gifts in the form of his ‘West Skater’ EP. The Italian DJ/Producer is well-known for his creative and quirky approach to production and delivers 3 uniquely refreshing original tracks for your listening and dancing pleasure. ‘West Skater’ kicks things off with a bumpy snare-led bounce, from the offset it sets the energy levels to high and keeps its foot on the gas until the very end. Big, punchy drums and layered vocal sampling sit on top of long bass notes that create an engagingly fun and groovy atmosphere. The clever use of FX in the transitional sections of the track really give it a unique personality. ‘Some Days’ follows with pounding drums, shuffled hat rhythms, shorter bass notes and plenty of swing. The track is driven by a sassy female vocal hook which is manipulated creatively in places to make things really entertaining. A peak time track with plenty of power and groove!
Closing the release ‘Worriors’ is more on the rolling side of the fence. A foundationally stern track with one almighty low-end. Driving rhythm and a seriously catchy vocal steal your attention and keep you distracted for just long enough before your hit in the face with the main body of the track again. Next up on NastyFunk is a two-tracker from K-Mack with remix support from Rone White & Rowen Clark.

Since bursting on to the scene last year K-Mack has wasted no time in making a name for himself as a producer. Signed to a number of well-performing labels including Repopulate Mars and Chuggy Trax his no-nonsense Tech is finding fans all over the globe.

Opening with 'Said & Done' a guttural tribal groove makes way for diva vocals and bumpy, drumtastic ride. Next up, 'Stutter' takes a deep rolling tech path. Clattering percussions and wonky vocals add interest throughout. On remix duties, Rone White & Rowen Clark add more intrigue to the original motifs and toughen up the groove.

'Got It' is a glitchy Tech roller full of energy. Chopped up vocals, snappy percussive lines and the bass line from the depths of the underworld all combine for a classy peak-time secret weapon. 'Wow' follows on perfectly. Rolling bass, sparse percussion and choppy vocals do exactly like they say on the tin - WOW!

Rolling bass, wonky vocal cuts and a killer groove mean this won't leave your box for months! On 'Mash It' recognisable vocals get mutated into a peak time bongo bruiser. To round out the EP, 'Buss Down, makes bubbling acid the focus for an accomplished debut.
