Back on the beat after a year wowing crowds worldwide, Clarisse show no signs of retiring by putting on an artist whose alias is just begging to make house music that’ll push and pull you down and eventually wear you out. Getting new kicks in the candlelight is Vidaloca, a Barcelona native who has beaten his party drum all the way across Beatport and Traxsource. Select spinners Nic Fanciulli, Anja Schneider, Dubfire and Chus & Cellabos can all claim to have gotten a piece of the Vidaloca lifestyle, and Toolroom and Lost Records are but two of the A+ hotspots that have employed the Spaniard’s champagne club moments.

With bass ruling supreme across 2017, Vidaloca gets his low end into gear and begins with the title track posting a plump seesaw of throbbing ‘floor theory to get the B-boys on vocals unfolding their arms. Grabbing a pick and mix of effects and riffs to prop up the pump of his beats, it’s a foolproof formula repeated on ‘Yes Boy’, giving house heads a gunfinger salute, and feeding the sort of dancefloor that grinds dancing shoes down to the bone.

‘I’m Back’ finishes a three-way always aiming to take the groove into the next day, with vocals putting in house work and a swirl of head-twisting acid jacks darting around a hearty, gritty tribal drum. Add a breakdown involving an alien whistle guaranteed to grab you by the ears, and Vidaloca’s work is complete: a trio of hustlin’ house tunes good for the whole of the New Year.

Since 2013, the Clarisse Nights label showcase has had all of Europe’s top clubs upholding Mendo's philosophy: "I just want people to have a good time with my music”.
