John Skeete is a Boston-born, Atlanta-based artist known for his raw emotion, dynamic delivery, and genre-defying sound. Blurring the lines between soulful introspection and electrifying rhythm, Skeete weaves elements of R&B, hip-hop, and modern soul into music that’s both emotionally rich and sonically bold.
Raised in a culturally vibrant environment, John found his voice early—writing poetry, playing piano, and experimenting with beats before his teenage years. Influenced by artists like Drake, Ne-Yo, Eric Bellinger, and Vedo, he has shaped a sonic identity rooted in vulnerability, rhythm, and self-expression. Whether layering silky vocals over jazz-inspired chords or delivering reflective verses with precision, Skeete brings authenticity and passion to every track.
In 2015, he stepped fully into his artistry, collaborating with DWeekes and GWeekes on one of his first original tracks — which sparked a debut performance at Boston Latin Academy’s Annual Spirit Day and marked the start of his journey. By 2016, John was locked in. He began performing regularly, using feedback as fuel and logging over 20 shows in 2017 alone — from intimate open mics to larger showcases like the Coast2Coast Live Competition and the inaugural East Coast Music Conference in Virginia. Now based in Atlanta, John has released over 75 songs in the past five years, steadily building a catalog rooted in passion, precision, and purpose. Along the way, he taught himself how to self-record, mix, and produce, taking full creative control of his sound and expanding his skill set as a complete artist. Currently, John is rolling out his latest collaborative project, 2v2, a high-energy collaboration with fellow artist Sque3eze. Whether on stage or in the studio, John Skeete creates with intention — challenging complacency, inspiring critical thought, and reminding listeners to stay grounded in who they are. No matter the pressure, never let anyone take you out of your Element.
