Living legend Cosmic Force is welcomed on Something Happening Somewhere for an all-out electro affair including a collaboration with national treasures Legowelt and Orgue Electronique. As the name implies, Transmitting Illicit Logic is a tale that can’t be understood solely with our binary brain cells. Reality always escapes the corridors of the mind and fails to be caught in it’s believed opinions and oppositions. Cosmic Force is here to guide you through the maze and helps you to relax these muscles, trading it for a more direct energetic connection that will put you into hyperspace. 

Mighty Envy is an unforgiving piece of arp centred electro, pushing the envelope without letting go of the gas pedal. Pulsating bells along the way signal you onto the cosmic runway, there is no space left except to surrender. Haunted By My Past accelerates to even further places. Inspired by EBM it’s a funky dance floor workout in which a sexy AI tells you everything about you you’ve never wanted to know. The great digital escape, you’re trying to make way to the reboot button but finally find out the damn thing doesn’t exist.

In Transmitting Illicit Logic we first encounter an older AI model which got stuck in one of its own created habits and as a consequence is only left spitting out deranging synth arpeggio’s. After we pass him we find a doorway to a hidden bar… the rest is history. Grand Theft Auto meets stripped back robot moves. Finally, we have Silicon Scally remixing Transmitting Illicit Logic, warping you to an even tougher and weirder dimension.

Cardopusher is a true electronic legend from Venezuela. His dizzyingly diverse sound takes in rave, acid, electro, techno and house influences and distils them into hugely raw and energetic new forms. They come on labels like BNR and Zodiac 44 and this latest offering is another visceral and arresting release from this singular producer.
Opener ‘All Fall Down’, premiered here, is a rugged and ragged electro track with darkness in the bass. Slapping hits are crunchy and textured while molten acid lines bubble throughout and will twist the floor for the duration.
Few producers can make music with the impact of Cardopusher, and this latest EP confirms that once again.

Mark du Mosch returns to Pinkman, after his debut EP The Red Hour back in 2016. Magneto takes you on a rollercoaster ride from an industrial factory workout to a soulful frenzy and back. Filled with heavy, borderline tribal rhythms intertwined with glitchy loops and spacey melodies, it’s a vortex into a dreamlike state where the routine is the villain and the practice of discipline unfolds into the liberation of creativity. With hardly any time to react and assimilate the latest released by Soil Records, the platform captained by SOJ presents again a new EP in vinyl format. It continues with its second anniversary campaign in the best way that a record label can do it, showing its great potential with great releases and with a rhythm difficult to assume for most similar projects, since this same month of June it has published the second anniversary album, the Filmmaker's EP and, recently it has announced a Namesis release and a second volume of Valley Of Tears for next July. This series of releases is quite recent, it was released last April and so far, what it shows us is that it is how the label calls the releases of several artists published on vinyl.

Soil Records counts again with Years of Denial, the previous time they were one of the 4 projects that remixed one of the four tracks of Body Shaper, but this time, Jerome Tcherneyan and Barkosina Hanusova debut with a track of their own. Girl With Broken Head opens this EP with an intense sound of dominant low frequencies and with the characteristic voice of Barkosina. Metallo is the second track on the A side, St Theodore brings more dynamics to this release with a techno where the harmonic part takes the continuous form of arpeggio. Djedjotronic closes this first side with NOD, contemporary EBM that intersperses close-ups between the bass line and the melody of the pad.

Velvet May opens the B-side with Lips Of Lusting Fury, a track with an invariable melodic pattern in terms of tonality but, rich in nuances with its constant modulations, to which we must also add voices from beyond the grave and more synthetic resources. SOJ himself closes the EP with Fleshing Out, a great track with a penetrating sound and with a great collaboration of HIV+, who is in charge of providing an apocalyptic touch with his voice.
