Jay Lloyd is an upcoming 28-year-old Songwriter,Producer, Audio Engineer, and Lyricist from Philadelphia PA. His music is a smooth take on classic hip hop with soulful abstract beats geared to the general audience.

From a young age he listened to a diverse range of music, as his family were music collectors and fans. Jay Lloyd fell in love with the sounds of The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Aretha Franklin, J Dilla, The Roots, Fugees and many more.

Jay Lloyd grew up in a mixed working class area of Montgomery County, an area outside of Philadelphia, his music and songwriting has been inspired from these grounded beginnings. His music is a way for him to talk about the emotions and situations we all face in life. For Jay Lloyd it’s more important for his audience to relate to his messages and stories, than for him to have fame.

Jay Lloyd has a laid back and instantly recognizable sound different to the commonly heard manufactured songs out today. In Jay Lloyd's performance the heartfelt word play over tranquil beats is what give's his sound a genuine soul feel.

Jay Lloyd is currently unsigned and working on his debut EP. To date he has worked with many artist worldwide from England, Jamaica and across the United States. Jay Lloyd has been featured on international mixtapes, released a collaboration album entitled "The Beginning" in 2009 and has performed in local showcases.
