Reflections (old piano version)

Butterfly I

I’m excited to share Reflections, a collection of six piano (+ three variations) pieces that I originally composed for an upcoming film, set to be released next spring. These pieces are personal and flowing, each one capturing moments of introspection and emotion that emerged through the scoring process.

On a few tracks, I had the pleasure of collaborating with cellist Eurico Ferreira Mathias, whose playing adds a beautiful, soulful depth to the music. His cello brings an extra layer of feeling that really complements the piano and enhances the mood.

Reflections is a quiet, heartfelt project that I hope will give listeners a space to pause and reflect. In these fast-paced and challenging times, I hope this album offers a moment of calm that we all deeply need. Thank you for listening.

Essence De L'été

I grew up listening to and drowning to myself in ambient music world. I used to have visions, used to imagine an endless world of my own design and creation full of rain and clouds and beauty. As I grew older these visions stopped and I was forced to live without them for a very long time until recently, as I was falling sleep in a summer afternoon in my dark room, I had another vision. I was floating on the water in the ocean. Just water and nothing else. The sky was grayish blue and the sea was harsh. It made so happy. Maybe my old self is coming back to me. of course, not old me. The real me.

This is my first drone piece. I used a single guitar note a series of heavy sound processing for the loops.

My name is Jackie Perks and I am a classically trained pianist and composer.  To me, music is fantasy and also the greatest universal language that transcends space and time. Here I showcase all of my original works, which are a combination of raw improvisations and structured pieces.  People tell me that my music is a fusion of classical, jazz/blues, and sometimes with a New Age or cinematic sound and that it inspires and relaxes them. Music to me is essential, just like the air we breathe and I love to free my emotions by playing my piano and composing the music that I have heard playing in my head since I was 4 years old. In addition to my originals, you will also find classical pieces here that I have arranged myself.  In June of 2015, I was discovered on YouTube and one of my improvisational covers was used in an HBO Documentary. To see me playing live, please visit my YouTube channel.
