Shanks Pony was formed in January of 2010, originally as a 3 piece but soon added two more members to become a 5 piece by March. 
We started off playing folk covers and Irish music which was influenced by their original singer who is no longer part of the band. 
Shanks' Pony love to play music festivals, as the people who attend these are appreciative of the original material. We we still like to maintain a healthy choice of Indie/Pop songs in our sets which appeal when playing a Pub gig. At the start of 2013 we added a Bass which now gives the sound a whole new dimension.
We have a few live recordings here on soundcloud and a few scattered on our Facebook page. We are hoping to get back in the studio in the New Year 2014 and start to record our 1st album of original material. This material is a blend of catchy  songs played on acoustic instruments, which put together gives Shanks' Pony a unique sound. The lyrics are a mixture of modern observations and true life experiences. Once the new material is recorded some will be posted on here.
