"A Ei Di'r Deryn Du" (Blackbird will you go?) is a traditionnal Welsh lullaby originally written in Welsh and English. I wrote a French part and rewrote the original English part so that the song would tell the story of "Guleesh and the King of France's Daughter", an Irish fairytale.

The English part is meant to be sung by a male voice - the whole song is indeed a dialogue. In the song the French princess is to be married to a man she does not love. As she sings her despair an Irish boy, Guleesh, is watching her and falls in love with her. He vows to save her and to take her far away. When he reveals himself to the princess she recognises him as her one true love and they declare their love to each other.

Thao & the Get Down Stay Down - Bag of Hammers

In Hour 2 it's Sevdaliza, an autodidactic singer, songwriter, visual artist and composer/producer. Her creations contrast husky vocals with heavy basslines, creating a mood that screams of temptation, with her Children of Silk EP was out in November 2015. Born in Iran and residing in the Netherlands, the 27-year-old has made quite a name of herself. She was a RBMA Paris 2015 participant and used to play for the Dutch national womens basketball team. Sevdaliza is a very passionate artist with a demanding vision in imagery/sound and an academic background in communication. She described her mix as "SPIRIT FRAME, A SOUNDTRACK TO AN IMAGINARY FILM, EERIE" and takes in music from artists like Frank Ocean, Alice Smith, Radiohead, Bjork, Hans Zimmer and Daphni Owen Pallett.

Bejan Matur is the most illustrious poet among a bold new women’s poetry emerging from the Middle East. Her poetry engages directly and concretely with the struggles of her people, and yet there is also a mysticism in her writing, a closeness to nature, an embracing of mythology – a dialogue with God.

This poem and many others that appear in her PTC chapbook 'If This is a Lamnet' were translated by TS Elliot Award-winning poet Jen Hadfield and bridge translator Canan Marasligil.
