This year we were at the BPM Festival in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico for the second time and we enjoyed every minute of it. Not only that we got to spend a few days there together, with the sun shining on our bellies and the coconuts by hand. Also because we got to experience such a good night with our showcase, which had us buzzing many days thereafter.

For all of you who could not be there, for those of you who were there but do not want to forget and for those who simply have forgotten what they did that night, here is a cut of the recording with Adam Port, David Mayer and &ME B2B2B. Enjoy and hope to see yu again next time!

This time we drop by Anost 'A Number of Small Things' which is the Berlin based online shop that offers vinyl, CDs, shirts and more, brought to you by Morr Music and friends. Christian from Anost steps up with a fine selection and he had this to say about the mix;

Solid Steel (19th August) This week it's the turn of Deadboy on Solid Steel in Hour 1, who released his 'Carbon Crush Versions' EP last week. It's 5 Deadboy edits using Drake, Young Thug, Post Malone and Travis $cott to fine effect and it's available on his website http://www.deadboy.net He's also released music on Well Rounded, Numbers, Local Action and Unknown to the Unknown labels and also teamed up with Murlo as DBM. He told us;
"I really enjoyed doing this mix, I tried to make it a kind of concise mix between my radio sets and club sets. There's a lot of really new stuff in here, a couple of old vinyl finds and some unreleased bits from me. Hope you enjoy."

Solid Steel in association with Serato (31st August) 3 years ago Solid Steel DJs Cheeba, Moneyshot and Food had the idea of collaborating on a version of the Beastie Boys‘ ‘Paul’s Boutique’ album made entirely from the original sample sources, shortly after Moneyshot aired his mix of their ‘Check Your Head’ album in the same way. 

Finally the result is here, titled ‘Caught In The Middle Of A 3-Way Mix’ - each of them have taken a third of the album to work on and combined their efforts into a mix that will make you hear it in a new way. Aside from the original sample sources they’ve included commentary from the Beasties, vintage interviews, demo versions and much more.

The mix was over half way completed when they heard the tragic news of MCA‘s death in May so the impetus to finish it was instantly doubled and new meaning given to the project. It goes without saying that this is also a tribute to Adam Yauch and the legacy he left behind and we hope it will be embraced by Beastie fans around the globe.
