The bittersweet incandescent shimmer of The Cuckoos is deeply rooted in classic rock, dance club funk, and neo-psych art soul, earning the young Austin, Texas band a remarkable reputation in just a few short years. The swampy groove arising from the collision of New Wave romanticism, swirling experimentalism, and loud punky guitars is somehow as perfect as it was improbable, decisively demonstrated on record and stage.

I Hate Love, the band’s debut album, is a musical manifesto. The diverse ten-song outing crackles with the electricity of The Cuckoos coming into their own. 
The band’s first self-titled EP earned favorable comparisons to Tame Impala, Joy Division, and Pink Floyd from esteemed publications like Classic Rock Magazine and Relix. I Hate Love is rooted in their primal psych-rock-post-punk soul but broadens its scope. It’s a new signature sound, one that will appeal equally to folks weaned on essential art-rock like Talking Heads and those attracted to retro-future acts like Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats.

I Hate Love was produced and mixed in Austin by Chris “Frenchie” Smith (…And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, The Toadies, Fastball) at the Grammy-nominated producer’s studio, The Bubble, and mastered by Gavin Lurssen (Chris Cornell, Frank Zappa, Iggy Pop, Kid Cudi) and Reuben Cohen (Leon Russell, Dweezil Zappa, The Motels).

Jaime Paul Lamb has been making some semblance of music since 1985 when, at 14 years old, he began playing bass in a band called Aborted Fetus. 
Since then, he has been in a million punk, garage, power pop and avant garde/free jazz/no-wave bands and his music has been released on record labels such as Slovenly, Black Gladiator, Paradigms, Wood Shampoo, NHIC, and several others.

Local enemy are an indie rock n’ roll gang from Merthyr Tydfil. Inspired by heights of the Britpop by Oasis, The Stone Roses and updated with a modern slant reminiscent of Catfish and the Bottlemen and Kasabian; the result is plenty of attitude, swagger, no affectation and songs that get right up into your personal space. The band have played alongside Circa Waves, Lethal Bizzle, Sundara Karma, Trampolene, The Farm, Slaves and Man Made and toured across the UK, including a night at the legendary Dublin Castle, Camden. In May 2016 the lads released their first EP ‘Something for the Weekend Sir?". The boys have also played a official after party for Noel Gallagher at the Liverpool o2 and have also played pre and at half time at a Wales World Cup Qualifying match getting thousands of fans singing they're own songs sung back to them. Headlined a stage at Cardiff's legendary Swn fest and had Huw Stephens turn up to watch them wow the crowd, later he tweeted how much he loved them.

The five-piece are once again proof that Merthyr Tydfil is one of the best new breeding grounds for new Welsh music. GET ON IT!
