Psychedelic-rock trio, Clawfoot Slumber will grab you by the neck and leave nothing more than a gentle kiss upon your lips. True to the name, their music contains elements of predatory ferocity, complimented by dreamy and personal ballads. With mind-melting post-rock guitar, piano-bass, and drums, and vocals that range from cunning to coy, the ensemble creates sonic experiences that have been described as, “expansive and gripping, yet slow-burning and intimate”. 

Clawfoot Slumber began in 2005 as the solo project of guitarist, composer and producer, Alex Callenberger. Hailing from Placerville, California, Callenberger traveled to the east coast and soon crossed paths with vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Erin LaCerra, who became a welcome addition to the project. After relocating to Portland, Oregon in 2012, the band added drums, forming a powerful live performance ensemble.

Since its beginnings, Callenberger has written and recorded 9 albums for Clawfoot Slumber, releasing Open Wide to the Demons Who Crave a Word with the Ghosts of your Heart in 2015. The next album, The Stars Within You Beckon to be Carried Forth from the Dark, was released on vinyl in 2017. The lengthy titles fit together to form a poem, which will continue to expand with coming releases. 

Clawfoot Slumber writes and records from their home base in Portland, Oregon. With their deep love of performing, the band maintains an active tour schedule, visiting venues and festivals that span from the misty forests of the Pacific Northwest to the Blue Mountains of Appalachia, and everywhere else in between.
