Inspired by a wide array of musicians ranging from Robert Johnson to Ed Sheeran, Daniel Young has crafted an exceptional set of songs that speak directly to a generation of music fans disillusioned by the meaningless pop songs of the day, seeking something smarter, deeper, and more universally relatable.  Though he is only 20, Daniel has already pushed himself to new places with his music.  Starting out playing in small coffee shops he formed the band Terraplane.  With Terraplane he worked his way from occasional minor gigs to a steady stream of shows and competitions.  Due to demand Terraplane traveled to Oklahoma and recorded an album titled Shades of Love (2014).  Now, stepping out as a solo artist for the first time, Daniel has taken all of the elements he learned while playing with Terraplane and created some of the most personal, reflective songs to hit a track in a while.

Second To None

I spent a whole day awhile back reading through the stories on the Occupy website. There’s that section where people take a picture of their face and they’re holding up a handwritten description of what’s going on in their lives. I’d never seen it before and got really lost reading through pages and pages of people’s stories, lost jobs and healthcare and difficult family situations and hope for a movement that could do something to help. I wrote Dark Chandelier that same day, just a made up story inspired by all the things I read.

At the age of 18, Clay began writing and recording songs in his garage at his parents house in Agoura Hills, CA.
Clay released his self recorded debut album "Bury 'em Deep" in 2013.

By the age of 23, Clay’s had performed a number of festivals sharing with bill with artist such as Five For Fighting, John Hiat, Dido and Brett Dennen. He also has co-written songs with The Eagles songwriter Jack Tempchin and performed with Rolling Stone’s legendary journalist Ben Fong Torres.

Clay now produces all of his own visual and musical content with his business partner, Shawn Dougherty. 



He is scheduled to release a new music video every 2 weeks for the next 6 months

We are not music snobs. We prefer music connoisseurs.
