The Megasong Project
====================

Description:

The Megasong Project is a demoscene music project initiated by Fabian Del Priore aka Rapture to bring together talented demoscene musicians and trackers from all over the world, combining their forces in one big music piece, which they bring together in collaboration; each participant is working on a part of the song (each one working on a few patterns or so), before it's the turn of the next participant and the tune is handed to him. The end result is a massive coop tune, but sounding as homogeneous and consistent as possible.

The first Megasong is made in Spacesynth (think Laserdance/Koto) style, but thinkable for the future are all kinds of styles with all kinds of different musicians, a different song length, different software to work with and so on and on, so the whole project is flexible to the max!

I would define and imagine the Megasong stating the following basic features:

Style: Whatever the given group of musicians can agree on, everything is possible: Chipmusic, Demomusic, Gamemusic, Soundtracker ST-01 / Earlymod, Techno, Trance, German folk musik, experimental, whatever... Mainthing is working together on a FUN project! :D

Length: Minimum 10 minutes, maximum 30 minutes
Number of participants: Minimum 5 participants, maximum: Open end, but we shouldn't exaggerate here or else organising it will be complicated. ;)
Platform/Software: Depends. Could be anything from any tracker to any DAW (Digital Audio Workstation / music studio environment) like Steinberg Cubase. The music group must have roughly the same experience on the same platform. For DAW's like Renoise or Cubase, only freeware VST Plugins will be used (no commercial plugins) and exchanged between the group, so that every composer can take part on the project without any hassle!

For the first Megasong project, the following talented demo scene musicians could be engaged:

Ladies and gentlemen, may we present the official Generation 500 soundtrack! It's an Amiga module called "Generation" - and it´s made by none other than pROPER dISCO featuring dLx, Firefox & Danko!

It won the Amiga tracker music compo at Datastorm 2017 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Amiga 500 was released 1987. :)

This is a song that can be played on a standard unexpanded Amiga 500. The soundchip of the Amiga is called Paula and has stayed pretty much the same since the first Amiga prototype, called "Lorraine", back in 1984.

I Like Your Style

I always felt that the Tel Me More project should have it's own theme, separate from the remakes, to honor my backers (contributors)... When I came up with the name "Tel Me More" I meant showing more of me, uncensored, pure and free. This is still a work in progress as it's formally called. I hope you guys and galls appreciate what I'm trying to achieve with my music for you... and also that this track shows some insight into my raw spirit.

It's also an ode to my "tracker friends" from all the way back!
(You know who you are!)

Back in 1997 I wrote this half-way thing called "Epic of the 90s" which I had intended for The Gathering (Norway's famous data party). However, I never got around to complete it, and just recently found the original files on my Roland XP-60. So there was only one thing to do: Rework it and make it into something suitable for 2018. 

The song is a little homage to all the great artists in the demo groups and crews who made these parties what they were and are today.

Summer of SID 2019

CL Collaboration consist of Frank Chotai (C) and Daniel Lindholm (L). These two guys first met around 1997 when they lived in the same neighbourhood. At that time they were mostly working on their own. At the start of 2014, after a break in Music making for more than 10-years, Daniel contacted Frank on Facebook and suggested they'd start playing around again. They started catching up on technology and soon they were up and running again, more inspired than ever!
