My longest ever recorded VINYL ONLY DISCO SET: The idea for this mix was born when I played in a club in Stuttgart for my girlfriend's birthday. The premise was DISCO in capital letters! For she definitely is a Disco Lady! 
As the roof blew off and the crowd went nuts, my girlfriend asked me, why the hell I hadn't recorded the set live. 
So I ended up re-recording it from memory and making it an X-Mas present for her.
Well, here is the result: a nearly 3 hours set exploring the many shades of Disco Music from rare Edits to Afro Boogie and Disco House... 
I hope you like it as much as she does.

A CHAT WITH PAL JOEY

There are certain names that keep appearing when you start digging into the history of West Coast house music.

Cle Acklin is one of them.

Originally from Dallas, Cle came up through the city’s underground during the 90s, part of the same circle that included JT Donaldson, Lance DeSardi, Brett Johnson and others who helped shape that generation of American house music. As part of the Hazy Daze orbit, he was there while the Dallas sound was finding its own language, long before the history got properly documented.

Eventually landing in San Francisco, Cle continued digging, DJing and producing, eventually launching Soundproof Music and releasing a series of deeply personal house records that somehow managed to stay just outside the obvious canon.

One of those records, No Need To See, originally released in 2003, recently resurfaced on Mineral Cuts as a vinyl reissue. A strange, hypnotic piece of West Coast house that sounds just as good now as it did then.

And the rabbit hole doesn’t stop there.

His Bandcamp is full of little artifacts from that era, Four Corners, Sustained Way, the unreleased Luv’d and Ready, older remixes, forgotten productions, and even new material appearing alongside it all.

This is the kind of history we love digging into at Texture Summit. Not the polished version. The records, the people, the stories between the lines.
