Since 2013, El Metate explored the outer realms of psychedelic funk through stop-on-a-dime original songs and interpretations of rare groove classics awash in a haze of soaring guitar, Hammond Organ, and Fender Rhodes. El Metate's music is not just a trip across the West Coast, but an intergalactic journey narrated by organ and horn stabs with a backbeat that fuels the funky rocket ride throughout.

After headlining sold-out shows to enthusiastic (if not rabid) audiences and sharing the stage with Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Monophonics, Tea Leaf Green, Robert Walter, Con Brio, Wil Blades, Adam Deitch, and more, El Metate has begun to take the show on the road. With a West Coast tour under their belts and a follow up LP slated for fall 2018, these musical retrofuturists are ready to share their music the masses.
