Los Angeles dream pop band Light FM began as an outlet for singer/songwriter/ producer Josiah Mazzaschi’s home recordings in his then home of Chicago in 1999. Fast forward 20 years and the band is continually cranking out dreamy, driving 80’s indie rock with elements of shoe gaze and atmospheric guitar textures.

The last few years has seen them tour the US with The Smashing Pumpkins, mainland Europe and the UK, and share the stage with The
Jesus and Mary Chain, The National, Ra Ra Riot, and many more.

The haunting, bittersweet melodies of LA-based shoegaze veterans Modern Time Machines have been described as a “noisy, romantic hurricane for those who like their rock with intricate layers” (Buzzbands LA). Boy/girl vocal harmonies feature heavily in the band’s feedback-laced love songs, which have drawn comparisons to acts like M83, Medicine and Sonic Youth.

Following the local momentum of their earliest shows, the band’s first single “Dweeb” began receiving strong radio support from LA’s KROQ 106.7FM. Continually refining their sound with “nuanced playing and killer hooks” (Los Angeles Times), the band was invited to perform live nationally on Adult Swim’s cult TV hit The Eric Andre Show, and their tunes can be heard on films "My Teacher, My Obsession" and "Killer Cove" on Netflix.

Modern Time Machines' 3rd LP, “Practical FX + Physical Media” drops July 29, 2022. Produced by Josiah Mazzaschi (Jesus & Mary Chain, Smashing Pumpkins, Deap Vally), the album features contributions from Kaitlin Wolfberg (that dog., Wild Honey Orchestra), and Ryan Connor (Sublamp), and material from the album is featured in the award-winning indie film "Dramarama".
