and maybe that’s why this obscure, juicy, deconstructed reggaeton jeremixyz debut resonates with me so deeply and seems just like a perfect first chapter of BFF Music adventure.

despite being precisely painted with a dense, mutated, biomechanical sound design it still maintains a fleshy, emotional narration constantly jumping from abstract neoperreo to uplifting trance, from disintegrating samples to pop melodies and from dark, posthuman eclectism to comforting guilty pleasure.

jeremixyz is all about decay and fluidity so each of the two singles got its remix.
Yvu aka Yan Higa (based in São Paulo) built a spacious soundscape that sounds like it was torn from the heart of H. R. Giger (🕯️).
julek ploski aka Juliek Płoski (that’s me xd) built a bombastic epic collage story marrying trance with a tavern dance.

The 38th release of katharsis and our final release of 2023 is the prodigious compilation "Embracing Darkness, Absorbing Light" featuring a vast array of artist beloved by the label. Throughout the grandiose line-up of the 36 tracks, the listener is absorbed by various differing interpretations of the theme outlined in the title of the album. Some of the invited artist went full into introverted progressions and meditative sounds, while others focused on aggressive rhythms or anthemic melodies. But even though the styles and techniques of the songs differ from each other, the artists seem to have some commonality in their sonic palettes that binds it all together in a mutual love for music as a healing force of nature <3
