Part love letter to, and part deconstruction of a number of old school games, its surprising twists, entertaining characters and wonderful story (depending on which route you take, of course) wormed their way into the hearts of gamers worldwide. My favourite element of the game was its wonderful soundtrack, written by the game's main developer Toby Fox, featuring a number of charming recurring motifs and perfectly complementing the game's style.

So here's my 20 minute sonic tour of Undertale, as played by symphony orchestra and rock band.

Here is an orchestral remix I created of the well known music from Undertale: Once Upon a Time. After a lot of requests, I thought it would be best to make something for you guys. I decided to give the theme a bit of a twist and orchestrate it in my usual style.

The Story Of Kindness

An orchestration of the ending theme from Super Mario World by Koji Kondo. I posted a shorter version of this a while back, but this has the ending now where I tested out Sample Modeling's Horns & Tuba. So much awesome.


Super Mario World - Ending Orchestra

This is an orchestral cover of the Select Screen from Zelda A Link to the Past. I'd never paid much attention to the Zelda music until recently. I wish I had gotten into it much earlier as there's so many good pieces of music hidden behind 8bit blips and blops. I have a 'making of' video for this piece of music that's coming as soon as I chop it up!

An orchestrated version of Mice on Venus from the Minecraft Soundtrack. Another attempt at using Adagio that just didn't go to plan - CS2 and Albion saved the day.

Minecraft - Mice on Venus Orchestra

An orchestration of the Overworld 2 theme from Super Mario Brothers 3. I kept faithful to the original with a few wiggly improvs here and there. It was a practice in a closer, more intimate orchestral setup. I kept a few detunings and weird things here and there to give it a bit less of a Hollywood feel and more like you've gone to see a crazy orchestra playing some Mario - hopefully that comes across.
