The 'piano' synth clashes in key with synth line that plays from the beginning. If this is intentional, go for it, if not, I think you could use F# and G# notes to solve the clash (not 100% sure, I do everything by ear).

First of all, I like the aesthetic of this sound, especially with the context of Berlin queer party energy this loose industrial 80's vibe fits really well and is fun. I hear a few issues: I mentioned the key clash earlier. Then, the kick drum is really long and bassy. I would choose something shorter, tighter and drier - that way your mix would not overwhelm a big system and sound good everywhere. It also fits the 80's vibe better. Then, the vocal: It's ok as it is, but maybe you could give it more individuality and character. Just sing/speak slightly more. Words are a powerful tool and should not be wasted. Following the success of the first volume in 2019, Italo Funk curators, Eli Soul Clap and Lele Sacchi have since been hard at work compiling the much anticipated second volume. Italo Funk Vol. 2 is dedicated to the great, Claudio Coccoluto who we lost earlier this year.

The continuation of the Italo Funk Story takes us on yet another trip through Italy, From “Venaria”, a little village just outside of Turin where Stump Valley offer us a blissful taste of the regions deep house flavors. To Puglia, where Rollover DJs present “Buonasera,” a slow building, bucolic jam.

Rocco Universal’s “Somewhere Else” tips it’s hat to Detroit, but of course with a healthy touch of 80s Italo. DJ Rocca, sweeps us away to Reggio Emilia, and serenades us with his jazz flute on “Don’t Be Worried” only to join us again under his collaborative project with Capofortuna as Roccacapofortuna on the peak time bomb “Potage.”

Capofortuna; the duo of DJ Rame & Funk Rimini, delivers festival bound heat, while Funk Rimini takes us on a vivacious visit to Rimini on the Adriatic Sea. Lele Sacchi & Brioski pick us up, and drop us in Milano for a taste of both the old, and nu school combined.

New York’s Kim Anh launches her CAN U NOT TALK label this January.

American artist and producer Kim Anh has been making musical waves for the last decade. Once dubbed LA’s “Club Queen” by Vice during her stint living in the city, she has been an ardent supporter of the underground queer club scene. In addition to club residencies and events hosting, she has made her mark as a recording artist with appearances on revered labels such as International Deejay Gigolo Records and Robert Johnson Live. Now based in New York City, she looks to instil her wealth of experience in creating a new label with a mission to contribute to music culture and support underrepresented artists.

The cheekily titled CAN U NOT TALK kicks off in the new year with a four-track EP from Kim Anh herself, backed with a remix from Chicago’s Alinka. Hypnotic title track ‘After Dark’ opens the EP with Kim Anh’s mesmerising vocals front and centre before giving way to the acid-tinged excellence of ‘House of Virgo’. The downtempo and euphoric ‘Giving’ shows the breadth of Kim Anh’s sonic palette whilst ‘Recovering’ provides a beautiful rendition of an Erykah Badu track, replete with an old school jungle twist.

Preceded by scene staples Roy Davis Jr. and The Juan MacLean, who remixed Kim’s previous EP’s, Alinka picks up the torch to deliver a chuggy Chicago House remix of ‘Recovering’. A further remix EP is planned for later in 2022 with a host of respected artists.

"When Octo Octa sent us the demos for her first full-length record since 2013, we were floored by how many tracks were single worthy. But, there was one that stood out as something entirely on its own, a song that in many ways sounded like nothing Maya had ever released. Since the beginning, we always knew we wanted to do something special with "Adrift," the 8+ minute space-age synth-dub techno tune. When we asked Maya about doing a 12" with remixes we were blindsided to learn she has NEVER had any of her music remixed before. With some remixers in mind, she asked two of her favorites and they said yes. So, here we are to present HNY-016 Octo Octa - Adrift, remixed by Avalon Emerson and Dorisburg."

A regular at Cocktail d’Amore, Bell Towers is a Berlin-based Australian producer best known for his long-lasting collaboration with Munich’s Public Possession. Next to that, a number of projects under different monikers — namely Rim Boys, an evolving b2b with András.

“I'm Moving To Berlin” is his first EP for Cocktail d’Amore Music. It's a sparkling celebration of the party; its influence on the city and on the producer’s life tangents. “It’s too late now / There’s no turning back / I gave it all for Cocktail d’Amor…” Rohan confesses, while a hybrid EBM-synth pop sonic adventure unfolds.

What happens next is presented in “Sexual Intruder Alert” and “Approach and Identify”. The first comes through as a quirky multidimensional future-disco tale, while the second plunges deep into the cosmic hole with punchy percussions and an euphoric groove pattern.
