While not a category I’ve really seen anyone else apply to this sound, for me, it’s the first word that comes to my mind when I hear these uneven, pulsating, off-kilter complexities that this entire mix is comprised of. There’s confusing time signatures, wonky percussion, entrancing pads and synths, and a rhythm structure that sometimes breaks itself before it comes back together. To say this mix was a challenge to construct is an understatement, but I’m exceptionally pleased with the result. Succumb to a tidal wave of rhythmic hypnosis with mix one of “The Arsonist & The Architect” - Undulate.

What began as a humble sound installation paying homage to my time in Sweden has transcended all my expectations. Over the past year, I've had the privilege of performing this piece numerous times, each time overwhelmed by the response it elicited from listeners. It's been incredibly rewarding to witness how many people have connected with and appreciated the music.

Ethereal is a labor of love, meticulously crafted to offer you an unforgettable audio journey. Every aspect of the album has been carefully considered and composed, inviting you to immerse yourself fully in its sonic landscape.

Drawing from field recordings sourced from Skåne, Sweden, this album weaves together elements from nature, urban environments, and industrial settings. It also features tonal work and recordings captured in various churches throughout the region, alongside electromagnetic field recordings.

The 13th episode of AIR welcomes Italian DJ and producer, @Donato-Dozzy.

Donato has been DJing in the 1980s, discovering techno and acid, before crafting his own take on dark, hypnotic electronic music. Although he is currently based out of Rome, Donato’s creativity depends on natural surroundings — whether that’s his beach house in San Felice or playing in the mountains at @mindgameslaby Festival in Japan. Donato and I sat down together to talk about nature and sound, a conversation that first started two years ago at @Terraforma Festival, and picked up this summer in Rome.
