Two remixes bring the original to a new level of power. With a deep handling of the synth, CIOZ has created an unmistakable dancefloor killer. The second remix by T.M.A is a swinging groover and completes this EP beautifully.

"Althoff is a Brazilian artist who is quickly becoming a core member of the This And That Lab family, now making his third appearance on the label in the space of only a few months. Previously he has contributed a solo track to a various artist compilation, followed by a remix of Matteo Spedicati, and now he is back for his first solo EP on the label.

In April of 2018 when Althoff first featured on This And That Lab it was only the third track he had ever officially released. Since then he has not only made other releases on Davide Squillace's label, but also featured music on Rancido Music, Plano B, Appetite, and MoonShake Records.

Fast proving himself as a hotly tipped talent with a bright future ahead of him, this is another example of the deep and melodic style of house he is becoming known for.

The first of four tracks, “Uluwatu” opens with ambient textures layered over tom drums and tribal percussion. The story telling structure unfolds with unexpected twists and turns such as a glockenspiel style melody that adds to the mysterious atmosphere of this captivating cut.

“Lost Paradise” is second on the EP and keeping the mystic vibe alive, it’s got an ethereal atmosphere rich in percussion and uplifting melody. With a tripped out vocal that sounds like distant chants and an arpeggiated baseline, it’s got dance floor qualities that are sure to make it a crowd pleasing favourite.

Things get deeper as we get into the poignant melody and street carnival style percussion of “San Pedro”, which is a fusion of contrasting elements not usually mixed, but like a sweet and savoury treat the unusual blend of flavours in this quirky track work exceptionally well.

Finishing the EP is “Mount Olympus” which has a grinding baseline and epic pads with dramatic melody. Brought to life with snare rolls and a charismatic array of other percussion sounds, its warm and eloquent sound is the perfect way to round off this stunning release."

In fact, this Ep is his debut with the label, titled "Ezgi" and it's a true love story! 

Der Keller is another piece from Joal for this pack. It's quite different by the tight deep wrapped sound that hovers over it. The groove expands the sound in such a way as to transport you to a utopian work very similar to that of Ezgi’s track.

'Mention Yoshitoshi to someone who grew up raving in the late 90's and early 2000's and there's a good chance they'll get a twinkle in their eye as memories of tracks like Eddie Amador's 'House Music,' PQM's 'You Are Sleeping,' Alactraz's 'Giv Me Luv', and Luzon's 'The Baguio Track' come flooding back. The label has produced some of dance music's most timeless records, including some of Deep Dish's own early work & remixes, plus iconic tracks like Chiapet's 'Westworld' and 'Tick Tock', Brother Brown's 'Under The Water', Kings of Tomorrow's numerous classics as KOT and Mysterious People, YMC's 'Last Stop,' Dino Lenny's 'I Feel Stereo,' 2 Smokin' Barrels' 'Basses Loaded,' Sasha & BT's seminal '2 Fat C**ts,' Lexicon Ave's 'Here I Am,' Loudeast's 'Lights Off!' and many many more. For the Techno edition of Yoshitoshi 25, we've dug deep into the archives and pulled out the finest tracks that define the darker side of Yoshitoshi's history. This includes remastered versions of classic tracks like Dish Out Bum's 'Gak Trak' Chiapet's 'Tick Tock,' 2 Smokin' Barrels' 'Basses Loaded,' and Timeline's 'Clockwork Orange,' as well as modern cuts like Victor Ruiz's 'Rollercoaster,' ANNA's 'Momentum,' Nicole Moudaber's seminal remix of Alcatraz's 'Give Me Luv', and Loco & Jam and Frankyeffe's 'Splitting Minds.' To spice things up, we've included three brand new remixes from Moonwalk, label regular Olivier Giacomotto, and Dubspeeka. Moonwalk takes on Phil Kieran's 'I Love You,' creating a deep mix that emphasizes the Italian duo's knack for catchy, earworm synth patterns and hold-your-breath build-ups that deliver in the club. Olivier takes on one of the earliest entries in the Yoshitoshi catalogue, Hani's 'Irieheaven,' flipping the originally squelchy 303 tune into one of his bold, signature hands-in-the-air techno anthems. Dubspeeka remixes Sharam's classic from 2009 'Secret Parkway,' turning the track into a moody late-night warehouse banger complete with spooky synths and gobs of low end. Following up the deep and uplifting Yoshitoshi 25: House compilation, the Techno edition takes you to the other side of the coin and once again demonstrates the label's diverse history and versatility. Drumcode starts 2020 with a sterling EP from genre hero Thomas Schumacher, his first on the label after a long association with Adam Beyer. No ifs or buts , if you’re a techno fan, Thomas Schumacher holds a place in your heart - his 1997 classic ‘When I Rock’ still gets rinsed today. Thomas has a vast body of stellar work on his influential former label Spielzeug Schallplatten, including a release from Adam Beyer, and he continues to deliver pin-sharp productions via his Electric Ballroom imprint, including a scorching remix of ‘The House of House’, the 1994 classic from Cherry Moon Trax. The rework was first played by Beyer at Time Warp and has been a 2019 highlight. 

He first contributed to Drumcode in 2018 with ‘The Unseen’, a stirring contribution to ‘A- Sides Vol.7’, setting up a maiden EP with ‘Crimson’. Beginning with the brilliant ‘Feist’, it’s a no-nonsense brain melter, as 303 arpeggios bloom and recede, creating a thrilling rhythmic intensity throughout. The title track ‘Crimson’ is crafted around two minutes of tension-building synths, before a beat finally appears and a rasping deep bassline commands the dancefloor. ‘Anker’ brings the rave with eagle -eye focus, unleashing a wall of fierce acid to round out the pack.
