Inspired by the sounds of Doctor Dru, The Mekanism, Hot Since 82, Larse and Pete Oak, https://soundcloud.com/shimmermusic is working his way up at the moment. Producing for 3 years now he is growing and making new music with Sivesgaard and Marco Darko. Next to dj’ing and producing he is also A&R Manager for the upcoming label from dutch organization Pleinvrees, who is also part of the collaboration project DGTL with Straf_werk. The Record label is called Pleinvrees Records and will start off with an EP from Robin Schulz.

Shimmer has some cool gigs to look forward to the coming months in Kiev, Paris, London and Aalborg. This Friday he plays in Zurich at Club Bellevue. Some more stuff is coming soon for Shimmer but that can’t be announced just yet. For now enjoy his fresh mix and check him out soon at one of his gigs.

For the seventh year in a row Manual Music is ending it's year with the annual Manualism compilation. This year more then ever before it's a showcase of what the label stands for musically with contributions in various genres, from downtempo electronica till peak time dance floor madness. With Juan & Esteban, Might At Night, Joe Miller, Oniris and Pulsek this compilation counts 5 debutants into the Manual family, whilst familiar names such as Qbical, Francesco Pico, Alice Rose, Max Cue, PHM and NY Fan are also present. From the moment you press play you will notice the album is building up from obscure electronica thru indie-pop, slowly but surely moving to the dance floor and ending with some full on melodic techno. A little bit for everyone here, and a perfect example of what Manual Music stands for at this time, and a pure bliss for any openminded music lover out there.

In the blink of an eye Steyoyoke finds itself approaching its second birthday. A lot has changed since the label rst emerged on the scene and tremendous strides have been taken in becoming a label to reckoned with on the scene. In mark of such efforts the label has put together its second Anniversary EP, featuring four remixes from four top artists on some of the labels highlights of the last year.

Play Again' was the title track and seducer of  Soul Buttons engaging EP release earlier last year. Pete Oaks remix of this gritty affair carries the same devilish charm and attitude as the original but with an added pinch. Gravitating around those, Pete Oaks remix packs a punch with couple of heavy drops.

Patrick Podage takes aim next with a well balanced remix of  Florian Rietzes  Treibholz'. A thunderous bassline surges this downtempo treasure into life, sending the elements scattering across a progressive and steady groove. Contrasting strings keep the raw emotion within this dreamy landscape. 

Brazilian pair  Flow & Zeo take a strong hand to Soul Button and Sasch's collaborative work Little People'. What was once a track that held a delicate touch, now holds charge as it moves with purpose and alarm. Rising and falling with precision, Flow & Zeo produce a rollercoaster of a remix.

Wrapping things up is Stevie R and  Ian Mckenzies remix of MPathys provocative  I'm Yours'. Emerging slowly out the blocks, the remix builds to become the eccentric jewel in the crown. Notes that appear drunk as they dance between a steady groove make this a quirky adventure for the ears. Maintaining the same enticing vocals and original tribal percussion help keep the heat.

All tracks will be available on vinyl from the 14th of February and in digital on the 10th of March with the additional  Pete Oak dub remix of  Play Again'. The 14th of March will see the label hitting Ritter Butzke to celebrate their second birthday coinciding with the release of the Anniversary EP. All featuring artists will be playing their part in showing that there is still plenty more to come from Steyoyoke.

Younan's second release of 2012 is a flip flop bending, jaw clenching package of african tribal tech house fusion. Tini Garcia and Sebastien Ledher return alongside Toolroom Records and Stereo Productions producer D-Formation as this EP delivers the african inspired tribal tech house that has "Ibiza" gripped. Junturos (D-Formation) sounds like what an african traffic jam would sound like, loud, bassy and rythmic with a bassline to crack a rhinos horn (do they have horns) while the sound of mosquitos play their proboscis in the background to complement the percussion of the "bongo playing hyena's". Venture (D-Formation, Tini Garcia, Sebastien Ledher) has an amazingly live sounding percussive driven groove with quirky vocal arrangement and a peak time terrace low end which makes up an EP that will make you want to iron your flip flops and dry clean your trilbies for the summer months ahead!!!
